Yeah, me too. I get an hour or two every day to go into the garage and buff. I'm getting there.

I doubt I will ever go through a pinstripe gauntlet like that again. Too much work to recover.

    Started this install tonight.

This one may take a few days as I only have windows of the day to work on my truck.

I would have gotten farther tonight, but I need to get longer Torx screws at the hardware store tomorrow.

I wish this kit came with some.

Cool! if you had the choice to do it over would you put Blue or Black AJT covers on most of the knobs? I'm trying to decide since I am getting rid of all of my chrome too!

I thought quite a bit about this. I almost went with blue hardware. I personally like what I did. I like to keep the interior clean and free of distractions.

But it just depends what you are going for.

Is that the car wash in front of Fred Meyer on Chinden? I see the ICCU in the back ground.
I have not seen your truck around yet but I will be watching for it now as you must live close by.
Picking up my new Limited Crewmax on Saturday in Calvary Blue.

Yup. My truck hasn't been out much lately as I have been in repair mode after a particularly gnarly offroad adventure.

I should be back in business soon. I have some scratches to buff out and I will be out more.

Also, post some pics when you get it!

My truck had to go into the shop the last couple of days to do some body work, so I had them install my SPOD switches and my NSV compressor at the same time.

I am glad they did it because the compressor came with zero instructions.

I had my ditch lights rewired too. Now I can independently turn on my floods and spots. The compressor is also hooked up to them.

The SPOD switch system is pretty cool and I have space to add more lights now.

Whelp. The fender flares had to come off today after only being on for two months.

First let me say that I loved the way they looked, but that is their only purpose.

Second, they were a pain in the ass from the start.

They never really had a great seal, and because the backside was open, they collected mud inside them. Which would eventually scratch the paint and probably cause rust. I was constantly having to adjust the weather strip thing.

Now my rear panel got tweaked a bit and the rear flare was even worse than before. It refused to line up. As I was working on it, I realized it would never be perfect and just collect dirt and mud on the inside.

I am now of the opinion that fender flares are just not worth it.

Yeah, I am going to get a professional buff, polish, and wax to get the scratches out soon. So, I had to make a decision.

I really wanted to keep them, but other than looking cool, they are hot garbage.

I didn't cheap out on them either. Got the nice Bushwacker ones.

If you can pick them up, they are yours. I was just going to burn them. Haha.

They have scratches from an offroad trip.

    I'm in Idaho.

I highly doubt it. They are pretty scratched and would need a new rubber seal.

Also, would be a hassle to ship.

I am ready to just chuck them and move on.

Even if I could get them I installed again, I wouldn't. They do more harm than good.

any progress on the ceramic coating? I think I'm giving up on PPF and going with something that will just help protect and let the mud wash off easier. The dirt around here is sticky as hell. One shop that can tint and coat would be ideal as I still have factory tint goin on.

Not yet. I got some body work done this week and then I am going to get it professionally detailed and touch up painted, but I have to wait for paint to come in.

I talked to some professionals and no amount of coating would protect against pin striping like this.

Once detail is done I will decide where I want to go from there. See where I am at.

The most extreme solution is Bulletliner. It's basically the stuff they spray on for truck beds, but colored to match your paint.

That would protect it from scratches for sure, but it doesn't look as nice.

I will consider doing that someday if I keep ruining my paint job because of offroad trips.

yeah, sagebrush is gnarly, but I can usually stay away from it. For now I just want to have the mud slide off with a hose and not have to scrub the mark it leaves. F#%@n water spots on my glass and chrome too.

I got a pressure washer. That solves the mud problem pretty quick.

But extra protection I'm sure helps.
