While traveling on a two lane road with a 75 mph speed limit ,in a passing zone. I was passing a car that was doing around 65 mph. When all the sudden the engine shut off. It was nice of the person I just passed to let me back over. ( and not thinking I wanted to play chicken with on coming traffic). I pulled over and luckily there was a turnout that I coasted into. Put truck in park ,pushed button to turn off all the dash light ⚠️ warnings. Got out of the truck opened the hood , checked the oil first, then battery connection. Knowing that the alternator should keep truck running even if I had a dead cell. After several attempts to restart ...all I'd hear was a clunk. Called wrecker and after waiting 3 hours for them to show up, I decided to do the reset for alarms. Still no beano. Reset it one more time and the engine started. WTF. Called wrecker service. Went to an automotive store bought a battery. Cranked it back up and the motor was idling very smooth, as if it wasn't running. Even the automotive guy was expressed. Got going back home ....about 90 miles. When at a red-light I noticed a knocking sound. That was present at low speeds . Took truck to local Toyota and prognosis is a spun bearing on a journal. 49000 miles. They are replacing every part that oil touches, so basically a new motor. I've had trouble with the infotainment system. Shutter in the grill needed recalibrated.waiste gate needed attention. Random warnings would come up in the dash. Anyway I really enjoy my 2022 Tundra and Knowing it was the first year for the v6 twin turbo and friends reminding me of all that's been wrong with it......really wish I'd waited for a different model. Talked to someone who works in the automotive part of Toyota...said this truck is number 4 that's had the same thing happen almost to a T. Number 4 at this dealership alone!. And not everyone looks at forums or writes about the misfortunes they encounter, so doing the math isn't relevant as to how many people this has
    happened to.

There’s a thread on here trying to consolidate the blown up 3rd gen’s. You may want to add your info to it.

I read somewhere Toyota is working on a redesigned engine that will have a resolution to the bearings problem. But that was like an internet tabloid, and I was not able to find confirmation anywhere else. The same source mentioned a software "remedy", perhaps a ECU detune?
