Hey, keep boosting til it blows. But wouldn't it be awesome if only someone could ever figure out a way to tune an engine for more torque in a truck than in a sports car or a luxury sedan.

That's more torque than anything made before the eco boost but alright.

Not everyone thinks their pickup is a race car.

ya, I hear you but your not going to get that out of "dinky" 5.0 without a charger or boost, the torque peak is just going to be higher, even the 5.7 peaks higher than the 3.4 by a decent amount.

if we are going back to NA V8, lets get that 6.2 or 6.7 Iforce V8 and not mess around.

ya, because low end torque in a truck is only about racing, you know better than that.

but yes, things do progress over time, more and more power is added and becomes the new expectations. When is the point of diminishing returns? IDK, I think the large diesel guys are still trying to find the top, lol.

Count me in!!!... when gas goes back to $1.00/gallon. No way Toyota ever goes this route. While there are plenty of vocal people here who claim to not care how much $ they spend on fuel, it is different out in the real world.

Easiest and most reliable way to get big torque at low RPMs - large displacement engines. Ask Rory Irish. No one that has to build their own torque monster machine is picking a v6 or a small block.

My old daily made around 1500lbs of torque haha. Was fun but not very practical. A blast though to launch in 4wd!
