    Hi All,

I periodically get a rattling noise from my blower motor. Upon reading other threads here, this sounds like a common issue with either the bearings going out, OR debris in the fan.

I haven't yet looked into how one accesses (and possibly changes out) the blower motor, but how difficult of a job am I looking at here?

I used to have a 2000 Chevy Silverado, and it took much longer to gain access to the motor than it did to replace it. It wasn't hard...IIRC. So...I just wanted to see if it was a similar process with a 2019 Tundra Crewmax.

    Thanks!

I just pulled mine this weekend. 10 minutes max. Remove the panel under the glove box by pushing in the clips. Remove the wire harness clips with a trim removal tool, unplug blower harness, 3 screws and it's out. I cleaned mine.

Pretty darn easy, and great place to start for someone who doesn't know how to work on a vehicle. Can easily save yourself from paying an hour labor time (for a 10 minute job if you stop to sip on your beer)

Thanks for the info, folks. Sounds pretty much like same job as it was with my Silverado, but much easier to access.

We'll see how many beers I end up having when I get around to it . The sound isn't happening on a regular basis (of course), but I am sure it will only get worse over time.

Tip-once the assembly is out, if you find it's not bad bearings, used compressed air and blow out the air port-you will be shocked how much dust comes out of this. It will make since once taken out.

I had the same problem and yes, as everyone writes, it's very easy to remove the panels and screws to get to the blower. Inside the blower were chunks of the air cabin filter...alas the culprit, once again, is a f******g rat! I've had this issue before and dont know what to do about it. Argh!! Anyway...it did indeed take 10 mins.

You need to cover your fresh air intake ports with wire mesh-there are 3 if I recall-one large main intake and two smaller intakes under the cowl. There are many posts about how to do this.
