Hey man, BEAUTIFUL TUNDRA. About how much did it cost you to have the front bumper ends and grill surround painted?

Lighting and new front bumper corners

Get this out of the way, I’m not terribly cheap, just have priorities. That said I wanted proper lighting without spending thousands of dollars.

    Controller
Really didn’t want to mess with switches, so I am using a wireless control unit. Definitely was not sure, but it works pretty good. The remote is very handy at night in the RTT, light up everything if needed.

    24F70981-92FE-4808-872F-DEA806557169.jpg

    Front

Not much choice for lighting location due to being a 2018, and keeping the honeycomb grill insert. All forward facing leds are 10 watt. The output is impressive to say the least, going to take my drone out and get some output shots when time permits.

Replaced lower grille 30” light bar with 32” dual control 180 watt light bar. Changed ditch lights to 40 watt pod lights.

    Rear
Led bed lights. Single rear amber spot pod for daily use, flips down when bed cover is on. Attached to waterproof disconnect in rear passenger bed corner, connects to bed bars when RTT is on powering 2 rear amber spots.

    Bumper corners
My painted chrome bumper corners were junk. Replaced with black plastic corners.

    Suspension

Upgraded front suspension to extended travel Fox coilovers with TC heim joint upper control arms. Plan on adding secondary hoop, bypass shocks, and TC lower arms hopefully by the end of the year. Rear is going to a local spring shop to have the stock pack re-worked for now.

I still use the brackets, and the ambers are all used in the rear now. They were useless as ditch lights. Sorry.

No worries! I've got a cement Tundra as well. Lining up the mods list now, love your new lights setup. I'm looking at the ditch lights with the side illuminating pods and then a 32" bumper light like you have. Very sharp!

Did you get your black bumper ends from Roman?

No, eBay cheapies. They already got bashed, so I can’t have anything nice. But it’s fun!

That’s awesome. And they’re fine the way they come as far as battling the elements etc?

    Hard to install?

Yes. I would love to say I have a plan with all this, and I actually did, but thats in the shitter. At this point all I know is my rear suspension is way behind my front suspension imo.

Yup I’m in the exact same boat, front is butter smooth. Back is terrible. Time to throw some $ at it.

They are fine, but I don’t recommend the eBay corners. Had to mod sensor holes, few bolt holes, etc.. Nothing that bothered me, but pain in the butt. Mine seem thicker/sturdier than the oem ones.

    Full size spare

Was going to put a 33” tire on the oe spare, then I realized the rim is made of cheese, and apparently Toyota expected me to hold it on with the factory aluminum wheel lugs. I’m never going to do a five tire rotation, the tire sensors for one, and the spare gets trashed under the truck. Found this wheel new for $60, it matches my Icons dimensions almost exactly but in 18”, and even uses the same lug nuts. It is painfully ugly to look at.:anonymous:

RTT - Bed bars - Lights

Tacomapocalypse bed bars, RTT installed using omega clamps, rear amber chase lights, and third brake light added.

    Rear spring upgrade

I hated the way my rear springs performed, mostly bouncing off the overload, and also needed more lift. Removed overload, added Wheelers 3 leaf mini pack, 1” Fat Bobs block, and Boss4x4s carrier bearing drop. The mini pack yielded 3/4” lift after settled, and is a noticeable improvement.
