Black Painted A-pillar is actually a wrap

Nothing new. The vinyl between the doors has been used since the 2007 model. It does look better removed with certain colors.

 

2013 with tape removed. Looks much better.

 

I think the white trucks pictured above looked a hell of a lot better with the black pillar still in place.

I agree paint color matters though. And window tint.

 

Started reading this thread and had to run out to my truck. Glad to see the metallic Black doesn’t have black wrap on top of it.

 

Its called black out tape and it just overlaps the existing paint. Completely optional.

The top of mine on the driver side was misaligned pretty badly, and it was driving me nuts. It kinda looks like how your dad did the first time you saw him without a mustache, but it's growing on me.

 

I think I like it on the part between the doors on my MGM 1794. But I think I will do what you did with the front part.

The A pillar is where your front grab handle is.

 

The 3rd gens are also wrapped on the A pillar. Shows it in the first post along with the B pillar wrap.

 

My '21 040 limited with the black B piller wrap is fading pretty badly splotches and lots of well earned pinstriping. thinking of using a heatgun to peel it off. What is the consensus on what to use to clean up the residual glue? goo gone, goof off or something else..

 

Anyone have a video showing the removal of this vinyl wrap?

 

Sounds like a stupid question, but- The paint under the wrap is just like the rest of the truck? Same finish, clearcoat, everything? If it's removed and cleaned up and detailed or whatever it doesn't look different or like there was something covering that section?
