Black overlay for steering wheel

Oh well good for them lol. Maybe if toyota would listen to it's customers and get rid of all the ugly ass chrome that 1 in 10 people like, companies wouldn't have to make these items to fill the void.

 

if you have a 3d printer you can make one for like cents.

 

Maybe someone will upload a 3D file of the overlay, like the vent covers, so we can print them for free at home....or get our kids to do it in school as a project!

Our son just 3D printed me a Turntable Cartridge case in school. He'll be game for a Truck Mod.

 

Down to 8, got a couple (just in case) to avoid headache in future.

Whoever it is has a GREAT price ! ...They could probably quad the price and sell the remaining 8 no problem to avoid options like painting or replace with this ...

 

Yep That would be a headache and total PITA to put on compared to the adhesive backed ones without the pins.

yeah for sure. I just bought one as I don't see there being any issues with it coming off as I never really touch that area of the steering wheel unless I'm cleaning the interior.

 

I tried the Esty one with the rough texture and hated it.
The rough texture was a lint magnet.
Also it is flat and no matter what, I always saw chrome from the original piece underneath on the edges.

I then bought the AJT cover.
The advantage of the AJT cover is that it has a slight curve it.
It laid better on top of the slightly curved original piece.

If anyone decides to 3D print one, keep that curve in mind..

 

$15 on eBay in matte black, I got mine today and the curvature was perfect just sayin…other option out there, would’ve rather the AJT myself but this will do

 

Just snagged one of the eBay ones before I missed out on that. Wanted the AJT but to late on pulling the trigger on it.

I didn't.

I just oversprayed them ( you can see it in pic 2). Once there was 3-4 coats on, I picked the corner up of the inner areas with a toothpick, grabbed them with my fingers and they peeled off (pic 3, it's all gone).

 

Got one off ebay the other day. Looks great

 

AJT also previously sold their shifter knobs engraved with the logo of your choice but Toyota put the clamps on that too. Had mine laser engraved
