I like the painting option for the cost savings but I’m a terrible painter. Even in the army when I painted my m4 tan which by no means had to be perfect I wasn’t satisfied. Call it OCD or any other D you can think of, pretty much knocks painting to the last resort.

Well I got a solution. Lol.

I sand and paint all my chrome pieces and sell them to you.

I would definitely consider people buying the paint and do it themselves to save money.

That looks sharp! Initially I was just trying to get rid of the plastic chrome elements and leave the silver pieces alone but this forum is making me go full retard with the blackout.

That is a good solution! The AJT trim pieces are very reasonable but the switches for the steering look pretty expensive, that may be where I draw the line and simmer down…maybe

I only say that because I hate to throw away everything.

I think we should just all go full retard and build some cool shit.

    I went full retard today!

Yeah I’m not a big fan of the bright silver. I don’t mind going dark but not totally blacked out. I like a little bit of contrast, hence the dark grey Tacoma controls which match perfect to the dark grey trim on the tundra dash

Exactly! I like a little contrast too so I didn’t totally black out everything but strategically did so with contrast.

so instead of using my AJT doorhandle covers I actually bought black Toyota handles but at the same time I was going to replace that silver strip right below the armrest but looking at it it looks better with that silver strip there for contrast when you’re looking at the entire door.

I ended up using the AJT door handle covers. I’m going to just leave the door strip silver, I can’t see it when I’m driving anyways lol. Where are you at in the Bay Area?

I put the covers on to see how it would look and I prefer the black door handle. I really like using OEM stuff hence why I’ve spent hundreds buying OEM stuff and tracking down part numbers.

    I’m southwest part.

Driver side vent. I tried to block some of the glare so you see it and shadow and it in light and it looks really good.

Can the door handle itself be replaced? Or does the whole handle assembly have to be replaced?? Anyone have any current numbers as to the handle stuff that needs to be replaced?? Please just PM me so as to not repeat or point out where it is. Thanks. Ken

I found the one for the two wheel drive up to 2020 models SR5 says it does not fit the 21s but I just can not believe that and have not found a parts guys that would say it does!! These guys around me have never dealt with anyone wanting to add or delete anything from a vehicle before. The part number for a 2wd is #!55405-0C010-C1 Black Trim Panel like on page one but for 2wd.

Same with the rings 5568-0C050-C0 these are the black vent/AC assembly vents/rings for each side. Door handles are 2 each 69206-0C040 and 69205-0C040.

Was assured that these are good numbers for the 2021 SR5 models. Thanks Ken

Thanks for this info !!! I have a 21 I just got and they did a good job blacking out a ton of the interior but these final items will truly make me the happiest camper as i've been able to black the majority of stuff out that is chrome/silver.
Great job getting all this info !

That looks great. So guessing you had to pull the dash parts to cover?

Also, how has it held up?

The HVAC unit needed to be replaced (defective unit). So did other mods (remove chrome) at the same time.
