splitfuse beat me to it, but that’s exactly it. Saved me $45 compared to sparks even with their free shipping, just a couple dollars more in bolts at the local hardware

Beware of what Megazip may try and do if you have recently placed an order with them. I ordered the drivers side grab handle yesterday. I just received this email.

 

Wtf. The driver side handle shipping weight is easily less than 5lbs. That’s screwed up!

 

Just got the similar message but without the apology and for a different % increase; not impressed! Never tastes good when a company wants you to pay for their mistake. It’s entirely possible that it’s true their shipping cost was incorrect BUT that’s their risk to bear. Do these guys have a history of bait and switch??? They seemed reliable from what I’ve read but I’m having some serious buyers remorse now

 

Forget that. Get yourself money back. If they won’t refund you, open a dispute with your credit card - they’ll yank their chain and get your money back.

I received a similar email which states that Japan has suspended postal mail exchange with the U.S. and that FedEx is now the cheapest way to ship items. I was trying to use the standard postal service.

 

I might need to call and ask about this..seems a little high for a sale.

 

I wonder if they are using the new Costco “wheels up” service for delivery.

I think you may have ordered a "Pro" handle by accident. If so, the price sounds right. They ship "special."

 

$146 Thou? That sounds about right for shipping a 5 lb pound part....I wouldn't even question it and just go through with it.

 

I bet they are going to drive it over to Texas from Japan.

 

I'd definitely stay away from them - I looked them up on Trustpilot and the favorable reviews sound like they were written by a Megazip intern. The other reviews talk about their shipping issues. If they are overseas and are giving you a hard time about refunding your money, tell them you'll contact your Congressman. I did that to a company in China (didn't know until I ordered the product) and they promptly changed course, apologize profusely, and refunded my money.

Knock on wood no issues with megazip for me yet. I paid just shy of $2 more to go with FedEx priority from the get go. They wanted to use EMS as cheapest then Fed ground

I know megazip has been used by many forum members in the past no issues, wonder what the deal is with those having trouble

Well, I informed my megazip cust service contact of the concept of offer and acceptance as a last attempt to let them make this right. I gave them the choice of honouring their original price (which I checked and they still continue to show in the store cart) or giving me a full refund. I realize this could be somewhat isolated but even when given the chance to honour the contractually agreed to pricing over seeing all of my business go bye bye due to their 18USD dispute, they chose the later. Personally, I won't use megazip going forward since the pricing in their store is subject to change after pymt is issued which gives me reasonable doubt as to whether I would get my order and if it would be as advertised. Just waiting to see the full refund on my credit card...
