6112 set at #3 clip which is 1.9” and 5160 in the rear. Tire is 34" x 11.50” and is a Ridge Grappler.

Does that front tire rub? Do you have mud flaps on the front wheels?

I removed the front facing mini mud flap and spent 20 minutes with a heat gun doing a little bit of reshaping to the larger mudflat. Truck goes in for an alignment on Thursday and then I’ll reassess if there is any rubbing occurring.

Question: Did you do the differential drop brackets? If so, which brand and model did you purchase? I'm on the 1.9" setting and thinking about adding this just to .e sure my CV's are always happy, they're a pain to change and would rather they last. Thanks/

Last Saturday I installed Bilstein 6112 @ 1.9" and added no lift to the rear but did install Bilstein 5160. There is something gratifying about doing the work yourself, although my old hands were a tad sore for a few hours after the install. I was incredibly impressed with the build quality of the 6112 and matching coil. The shock body had no manufacturing flaws, all bolts needed were included, the KYB top hat bearing installed without a concern, and the assembled coil/shock system installed with very little fuss. I've only put about 200 miles on the system thus far but initial on road impressions are positive. The ride is firmed up no doubt, but confident in many ways. Most noticeably for me is rebound, the truck now manages rebound with ease. My truck feels balanced and firm but comfortable.

I have King coilovers all the way around on my wifes 2016 4Runner 4X4 and a few things came to mind when I was driving it for an hour last night. The Kings on road ride plush and off road when we push them they chew up almost everything we've done on trails in 2 years, as they should at a cost of $2500+ dollars. For the cost difference I'm thrilled so far with the 6112/5160 combos but the real test will come on the trails.

What are your experiences on the trails with this combo?

My set up is 3/1.5” lift with 37” tires and love it. For the front, I’m using 6112 at very top setting with a CB shim and optional JBA UCA. For the rear, I’m using Toytec shackles with 5160.

My two cents on the shim for the lean. Give it a week to settle after installing the 6112's. Mine had it at first, but after a few days of driving, it settled even. Not everyone has those results, I guess I was just lucky.
I realize its a spendy PITA to put a shim in after the alignment, but I waited a bit before pulling the shim trigger. Glad I did.

Franco those are some beefy tires. Can you share a few detailed photos of your wheel well? What trimming or likely cutting did you do to keep the tires from ripping off your fenders?

Trimming circled in green. I also had my alignment guy shove the LCA as far forward as possible while staying within toe and camber specs.

Side shot with 6112 set at 1.9” still having a little rubbing issue on the front most, front fender. Not sure what else to do to get rid of the issue. Any suggestions?

Your truck looks awesome! As for the front, it looks like you already removed the little front flap. I removed entirely the front plastic liner. There's a thread on here that shows how to cut and re-drill holes on the front plastic so that it will fit in more flush and inward on the bumper. I intend to do that one day when I'm not feeling so lazy. Unfortunately, I can't find that thread at the moment, but I know it includes some really good photos on exactly where to cut. Hope this helps!

Here's a Youtube clip to check out, just start at 16:44 and John Bednarz shows you that you can leave the front mud flaps on and move the front bumper forward with spacers / washers. Looks good to me. His friend Georgi has a nice truck.

I’m new here, just came from a 2017 Tacoma trd off-road and purchased my 2019 trd sport tundra two weeks ago. I really want to do the 6112s and 285/70r18 on some Ray10s like you but I am worried about the rubbing. I’m in love with your setup and I was wondering if you solved your rubbing issue and how? Thanks in advance I love you're truck man!

Welcome, it’s nice forum of Tundy enthusiasts.

Yes, solved the problem and 0 rubbing. Purchased @Coachbuilder1 front bumper shims for around $80 or so. This provides around 1/2” of clearance and no rubbing at all. This is definitely the route you want to take, Buy quality parts and your truck will out live you!

Awesome! Thanks for the welcome and quick response. I’ve been doing so much research trying to pick the perfect setup for my needs and I think this one fits the bill. I do have two more questions for you. Are you running any cb strut shims? If not, did you notice the Toyota lean after installing the Bilsteins?

That’s a good q. I did not install strut shims. My truck has a slight lean but it doesn’t bother me a bit, I prefer it actually and unsure why. :) The truck leaned when I got it new and I’m running with it. Drove to Big Bear Lake today and the the suspension proved itself again. It’s smooth.

Great, thanks again for the info! I came into this forum thinking I was going to do a 3/1 spacer kit with 295/70r18, but now I am definitely going to be running the 6112s at 1.9 with the 285/70r18 RG! Thanks to you and that beautiful rig of yours.

Enjoy your truck and I wish you many years and hundreds of thousands of happy miles of ownership. It’ll look fresh once you install that 6112 system.

Not to threadjack, but, has anyone had any experience running the 6112 at 1.9', and 29570/18 toyo open country at II on the stoch trd offroad wheels? Didnt know if the tires would fit without rubbing the UCA's without spacers

I am getting my 6112’s and 5100’s installed next week and I want to put the 6112’s at the top setting (2.5ins). I have read that it either sits level or has a bro lean. I want it so be level so should I wait to see how it sit or just go ahead and buy some shackles to be prepared?

I think if you go 2.5 you’ll be nose high I’m sitting 1/4 higher in the rear with 6112’s set at 1.9 and 5100’s rear no lift maybe someone sitting at 2.5 can confirm what rear shackles they went with. I’m running Yokos M/Ts 285/70/18s (33.9 x 11.4) not sure what size your gonna run. Hope this helps

Just got the 6112s (highest setting) and 5160s installed. Diy'ed it and took around 6 hrs. Pooped. Feeling very accomplished.

Installed 6112 at the 1.3 setting and 5260s rear- no lift. Truck measures level with exception of driver front lean; probably should have put a shim on - I have 3 shims in the box... as well as a CB =2 shackles. I started out with the 6112s at 1.9 and had them reset to 1.3 - trying not to second guess myself. The ride is way better and I love it.
Next are Method 701 17's with 0 offset. Wondering if I can fit 295/70/17 or 285/70/17s and perhaps 305/65/15s? -Don't mind trimming a little.
