Thinking of leveling the Tundra. Should I put the shocks on the middle ring or upper ring to level?

Where and how much did you get your blisten shocks for. I want to do the same for my truck. I loved it out with a leveling kit but people have told me that buying the blisten 5100 shocks is a better choice and gives you and better ride. Is this true. Should I put blisten a on the back too.

Saw them on summit for about $230/pair. Am told ride quality stays the same.

I put them in the middle and it seemed level to me even maybe slightly nose high so I added a 1" block in the rear, I like the stance, opinions vary on this however....

Thx for the pic. Good stance. Looks like upper ring would have the possibility of being a tad bit higher than rear - which is exactly what i do not want.

How easy it is to adjust these once installed? If I put them on the highest setting would it be a huge deal to lower it to the medium setting?

It's a pain in the butt, have to use a strut compressor and take the load off of the spring

Probably as expensive as having them installed In The first place.

Just did 5100s front and back this week. $360 from 4WP and one of my customers installed them and aligned for $355. Middle setting and looks great, no visible lean. Noticeable difference from stock.

I put 5100 on the front and 5160 on the rear. I put the 5160's on a couple months after the front. Both front and back each firmed up the ride significantly but in a very good way. I can easily compress the factory shock with one hand, minimal effort. The 5100 is strong as shit and I struggled getting the rear ones in without rigging up something on a jack. I also went middle setting, its up to your preference. Top is nose high, middle is slight rake. But with how huge our hoods our the middle looks very level.
Middle setting on the right Tundra

I must be missing something. The 6112 leveling kit is $600. But the 5100 shocks are $200 for the pair and do the same thing?

The 6112s will come with new springs. Sometimes you can have them ordered preassembled. The 5100s will require an install as they reuse factory springs. In some cases it's cheaper to get the 6112s preassembled and install them in your garage. They both give a lift but the 6112 is a larger diameter shock

Great info guys! New to the forum and I'm interested in doing the same to my 2016. Just one question - Does anything have to.be done to the transfer case to help the new angle of the truck? Meaning a spacer as you would with a level kit. I'm not going to need blocks in the back as I have air ride for my towing capabilities.

Yeah the shocks are about $230, install is about 1 to 1.5 hours per side then alignment. So I am figuring $600 ish.

Nothing to transfer case that I know of. The middle ring setting on the shock is supposed to be about a 1.5” lift.
