Good Monday morning everyone. I have a 2010 Rock Warrior CrewMax that I am getting ready for an upgraded suspension.

Currently I have a 2” spacer on the front and 2” block on the back. I like an aggressive rake stance. I just like the look of it and I often have a trailer I pull for my mowers and various other things. I have a very heavy Smittybilt M1 front bumper.
I have Rock Warrior wheels and 305/70/17 tires. The tires are roughly 34/12.50.

I have a local shop that will be installing Billstein 6112/5160 in early August.

This truck is my daily driver for a 30 mile one way regular commute and also is a work truck for my lawn care business. I haul mowers, logs, firewood, 4 wheelers and misc things.

We live in southeast Ohio. The roads can be good and bad. Some bad back roads that are uneven and bumpy with lots of hills and turns. I hunt a lot but I don’t really do any off-roading.

The main thing I am after is a quality all around ride for me and my family with keeping in mind all of the above listed uses.

Right now the truck rides stuff and rough. The shocks are the original stock shocks with spacers and blocks front and back.

So the first question is do you think 6112/5160 fits my needs and wants?

Second question is what setting should I use to achieve that aggressive rake and factor in the bumper weight?

My thoughts are the top setting thinking that it’ll bring it down some due to the bumper weight and. I’ve also read that it possibly rides rough on that setting.

Another option would be to do the 1.9” setting and add a shim or two from Coachbuilder.

I’ll likely be keeping the 2” rear block on maybe drop it to a 1” rear block.

I’ve researched and read on this forum A LOT!
You guys have been extremely helpful to this point. I’ve pretty well decided on the 6112/5160 combo but I’m up for listening to other ideas that are less expensive than this combo. I don’t want to spend more than that.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and help!

If you see that the 6112/5160 are too much for your budget, you may look into the 5100 all around. I would also go for more heavy leaf spring pack since you tow and haul a lot. With the unsprung weight, you can maintain that aggressive rake.

I actually have the 6112/5160 on my Tacoma, and it rides exactly how I want to drive when doing truck things. Not sure what the specs would be for the front springs, but you may want to set the spring perch of the 6112 one notch higher than what it recommends for a specific height to offset the heavy weight of your bumper.

I could be wrong, but I think the 6112 coils are of a lighter spring rate than stock. If that’s the case, a heavy bumper may cause premature sagging over time even if you set the coilover at its highest setting.

I think this may be the case for the stock spring rate as they are rated (I believe) 700lbs. The B6112s come with a 600lb spring rate.

Although, as an aftermarket coilover manufacturer, it wouldnt make sense to provide a softer spring rate when compared to the OEM. I'll have to look into this more to verify that info.

Thank you for all the help. I’m a little slow getting back to everyone. It was a busy week and I’m just now getting a chance to follow up. I’m going to go with 6112s set at the highest setting with 5160s in the rear and I’ll keep the 2” block in the back.
