Hey everyone just looking for some input. I recently put a Billstein 5100 full suspension level on my 2017 Tundra with 34” Tires. Shop said they went 2.75” on front and 1” on rear. My question do I need upper control arms as shop reccomended. I feel the truck drives great on highway. It’s not 4X4 so no off-roading. It’s likely I would drive from AZ TO CA. About 300 miles. On occasion. Just wanted opinions. I was thinking it was an up sell. Tia

Welcome to the forum from Dallas, TEXAS.

Your need for aftermarket UCAs depends on your alignment.
Were they able to get you decent numbers on the alignment after the 5100 install?

In my research of coil over replacement, I have Billstein 6112/5160s, if you keep the lift under 3" you may not need to replace the UCAs.

This is from my old forum, but it give details of a proper front end alignment info..

Also how did the lift the rear?
If they used blocks, you might consider Toytec shackles..
That is what I used for a rear lift on the 1" setting. I had about 2.5" of front and the 1" in the rear..

    Good luck...1LL

I don't think you need new uca, they say 3" or more, you need new uca to achieve correct alignment specs.

I appreciate your feedback. This is my first time leveling a truck. Unfortunately I didn’t ask about alignment specs. My bad. My cousin used the same shop a week later different shop tech and he didn’t recommend UCA to him. My tech just seemed like he was up selling. My only concern is traveling long distance with my wife driving sometimes. I’m worried about wandering. I have maybe 500 miles after level and so far it drives perfect. Thanks again

Just keep an eye on your front tire wear, inside/outside edges, proper PSI, and rotate tires every 5K miles.
If the tires wear evenly and you don't have any pull on the road, you're probably OK.
Perhaps someone that knows more about this will chime in..

Howzit and Welcome! If the shop can't get proper alignment, then yes. I'm at 3" and needed UCAs, some don't. Every truck is different. Post some pics!!!
