Bought a set of 305/65R18 Wildpeaks for my '17. Long story short it's just too much compromise on the handling of the truck for my taste. tires were ridiculously quiet and rode fine but IMO the Tundra just isn't built for that much meat. back to stock and satisfied it's the right choice for me.

Anyways I saw on Falkens website they have a 30 day trial period with 100% purchase price (less shipping, install, etc) on tires in that period with less than 1k miles. So I call my dealer and tell them 'lets switch back and I'd like to do the 30 day trial return'.

'oh we aren't really a dealer, more of an associate dealer'.

    what?

'yeah we don't know anything about that trial bit. you'll have to call Falken'

So I call Falken. Warrenty dept out for the week. Leave message. 40 minutes later warranty guy calls me FROM HIS CELL PHONE WHILE ON A COMPANY SPONSORED VACATION to help me out.

    Wow!

He says any Falken dealer should help me. So I try one and they are like 'umm no you didn't buy from us so good luck'.

I call Falken back. Get a lovely young lady who says 'who's your dealer? what's their number?'. 20 min later she calls me back and says 'those guys didn't want to help at all so call me when you have tires dismounted from wheels and i'll send a fed ex truck to pick them up. you'll get refund once our warehouse verifies tires ok.'

Well holy crap I can't believe a big tire company can provide this kind of service to a small customer like myself. Totally impressed. Well done Falken. I will sing your praises from here on.

to be fair my local dealer warned me against going to that size and suggested 275/70 as an alternative. had I gone 275/70 on stock wheels I'd likely be pretty happy. may try it in the future.

but after being left in the cold by my dealer i'll be traveling elsewhere to buy. will probably put more emphasis on tire weight next go round as well. the tundra really is light on its feet as equipped from the factory. a joy to drive.

Hell Yes! That is service. That is like the Toyo 45 day guarantee. Les Schwab had no idea what it was even though they are listed on the Toyo website.

That's good to hear since I just bought 4, and I'm not sure if who I got them from was technically a "dealer" either.
I don't anticipate any problems, but it's always good to know a company has excellent customer service.

Great story about customer service. I will definitely look at them for my next set. I haven't been impressed with Les Schwab the past few years. I did have a similar experience to yours with Discount Tire but I had to pay for the option to return them after they were mounted on my truck. I think they charged me $40 per tire when I purchased them but I waited about 5 months before getting them replaced. At the time it was worth it to me.
