Yesterday, I pulled my cargo trailer loaded with ~7000lbs to my parents. The ground has a small slope (not noticeable at all when looking at it). As I was turning around, the truck started to spin tires trying to pull the trailer back up this “hill.” After a few blonde moments of trying to put sticks or bricks under the wheels, it dawned on me... I have a 4x4, put this beast in 4Hi and drove right away.. Better to have it and not need it, rather than need it and not have it!

My thoughts behind 4wd....if you have to use it once, its paid for itself.

My truck was spinning and sliding sideways this morning in my driveway (fair amount of snow). I put it in 4x4 and pulled it right out without even spinning. I have three Toyota dealers near where I live and none has a 4x2 Tundras in their inventory the last time I checked if that tells you anything.

Wait till you have a steep downhill drive off-road, I thought my tundra had crawl control I put it in 4-low and 1st gear and it drove itself, I didn’t have to brake or gas just steer.

It's best to pay extra for 4WD unless you absolutely know there will never be a chance in hell of going off the road.

But for what I paid for my 2wd I’m not complaining. I’ve seen 4x4 model go for 3-4 times what I paid for mine.
