Hope you get great results testing the new cover 71_340. I'll probably be taking my wife shopping as well tomorrow. Just enjoy the experience of being together.....

If I do save a little gas it will be more then offset by taking my wife shopping because I usually end up paying.

Now test towing the boat without tow haul on. I filled up this morning and reset. 60 mile round trip mostly hwy to work and back with tow haul on. Sitting at 18.1 when I pulled in driveway tonight. I get 10 or close to it with 5000 lb 22' bay boat. These folks getting 15 have a heavy foot or it is all city.

I’m actually getting better MPG with it own. I was at 10.5-12.0 and with it on I’ve been 12.9-13.5.

It’s working hardest at take off by the truck almost fees lighter and once you’re on a steady drive it’s actually working less not driving the rpms up. Unless you’re flooring it..

I m just curious if it’s doing anything negative to the engine or transmission.

    Any ideas?

i have yet to get anything better than 14mpg. When i changed my battery it went up, but thats just because i changed my battery.....back to 14mpg.
I'm not even romping on it. What kind of black magic are you guys doing to get 18mpg?

In my case I have a 4x2, not 4x4. I have no need for 4wd and 2wd is better on mpg from what I have read. I get a measured (not the display value) 16-17 mpg consistently. Unladen, mostly freeway, easy on the throttle with a few instances of giddy-yup. I calculate mpg whenever I fill up with a calculator, more accurate that way.

According to the Fuelie app I averaged around 17 MPG over the last almost 3K miles. I do not hotrod my truck to get that kind of mileage.

I’ve got a MX4 on mine. Looks great, works great, but no change in mpg.AEEE47AB-4F6F-4AF2-A5EE-6488D40278A6.jpg

Im getting 15+ combined all day long everyday without TH in my Tundra. Although, I did notice that on my POS 2017 Tacoma, I did get a little better mileage in ETC mode because I wasn’t over compensating as much for the shitty throttle response. The tundra is great!

MPG gains with tonneau cover has to depend on your driving habits. The cover has effectively no drag reduction below 50mph, moderate around 65 and much better around 80. If you drive on high speed interstate highways, you get a better benefit than in a city. Mine shows consistently 1 mpg improvement after adding the cover. I drive mostly 50mph or less with short trips on the interstate where I do 70-75. However, I took a 7-hour trip on the interstate last month, and my dash read over 20mpg, up from about 17.5 normally.

I'm getting over 14mpg with tow/haul on and only 12 or less with it off. I have lifted truck though with 35's tires

Yes, the Beast Mode is so much fun. The throttle response is crazy.

    LED headlamps/fogs; interior footlamps.
Tow/haul makes Zero difference at highway speeds.

All it does is move shift point to higher RPMS to allow engine to gain HP and Torque when you guessed it, Towing/Hauling.

So as a result of higher RPM shift points, only one thing can happen, lets all chime in together now....

May have achieved higher MPGs in this "experiement" but it is flawed for the above reason.

I disagree. I tend to keep my foot off of it in tow haul.

Hell man... I have to pay my wife an allowance just to keep her out of my bidness.. She gets $2K a month and she has a job... I've been retired for 5 years. Worth every penny though! She wants to argue, all I have to do is pick up a checkbook and shake it...LOL
