+1! I think I've tempered my bling. I'm sticking with my plan on SCS wheels, but think I am decided on going with 5100's all around instead of the 6112/5160 combo. I'm almost in 6 months and driving and have realized my needs are lower. I figure this is a low pain option if I decide to upgrade later if my needs change.

I'm looking at some 6112/5160s. Why back to 5100?

Anyone know if or what the stock shocks and spring specs are? I have a 17 Limited and came from a 16 Tacoma TRD OR. I kinda like the softer ride, especially off-road.

Also, I just want to level the front.

I installed 5100s all around on the wife's 13 4Runner so I can do the work. Are 6112/5160s that much better?

Thanks and sorry for the hijack.

From what I've read the benefit grows along with the roughness of the road. Mainly road based driving will provide a small improvement over off-road, and my off-road driving really doesn't require that level of comfort.

I'm fairly confident your ride will stiffen no matter what you change. The tundra oe suspension is squishy.

Headstrong offroad has the best prices I've found. Great customer service, unlike other shops hanging the phone on you and not returning your calls when needing info for an order. Paid less than $2,400+ for custom length ADS w/res for front and rear.

Yes. I picked up 4 days overtime to pay for it all.
Toytec boss 700 lb up front and 1.5" shackles rear with the uniball UCA's. Hope it actually raises the front 3"

You can certainly adjust it to 3" or even higher if you decide to, but 3" is the max recommendation. I've been at 3.5" for 2.5 years and zero issues.

Well that's the opposite of what I want. My OR Tacoma TRD with bilsteins rode much softer than my limited tundra.

So does any know if the 6112/5160 combo or 5100s ride stiffer than OEM?

To my knowledge, they both do. However, they should feel better over bumps, ruts, etc.. in the road. When I ride over rough terrain right now the truck is extremely bouncy, soft, but bouncy. The new shocks will help improve absorption ie: make the road variances less noticeable.

Can you adjust coilovers when installed on vehicle. Found good price in 6112s set at max but think 1.9" is best setting to avoid the dreaded bro lean. Not doing anything on rear.

When it comes to the bilstein I don't think you can adjust while coilovers are installed. I know for a fact you can adjust the @ToyTec Lifts boss kit while the coilovers are installed. Maybe you should spend the extra cash and go toytec?

I would buy them set at 1.9 and call it a day. If your not doing anything out back it will be good. I had Icon coilovers on my last 2 trucks and never touched them after I installed them. I went 6112 this time around.

The 6112's assembled from Boss4x4s.com are $689 you cant beat that

Amazon has some nice 6112 + 5100 combos pretty cheap. Like 800 shipped.

Man I love my toytec boss kit. Took it to the beach today and went through some real loose uphill dunes and these nittos performed well. Almost got stuck just once !!!!! Thanks @ToyTec Lifts

Yes, but personally I go for customer service. It'll be more challenging for the seller to want to work with you, should the 5100's begin to leak early (happens more than you think) or some other hiccup occurs. Just my .02
