I ran the rear cam wire from the window unit up under the trim at the top of the window and came down the A Pillar down to the floor panel from the front to the back and then up inside the door trim up to the back window trim area. The toughest part is getting the wire under the roof trim but the rest comes off pretty easy. Just make sure when you run the wire down the A pillar trim, you avoid putting it in the way of the air bag.

Finally got around to installing a dash cam. Went with the vantrue pro , dongar pro for the wire harness and rear mount bracket from the dash cam store( not arrived yet)

Yeah, but it's pretty up there on the cost factor. I have the perfect alternative and don't have to worry about charging a battery.

@11CMGray, hope you have better luck than I did with that same exact setup (same camera and adapter). My camera would reboot randomly. I switched to the cigarette lighter power cable and it hasn't rebooted a single time since. I just ordered a hardwired kit as my final solution.

I did have some days where it did not reboot at all with the dongar adapter and others where it would constantly boot loop every 30 seconds or so. Only thing I suspect has something to do with it was the temperature outside and if the AC is running it reboots more frequently.

This thread explains the power requirements of this three camera system and why it happens when not using a Vantrue supplied power source https://www.reddit.com/r/Vantruedashcam/comments/1c49zm4/comment/m5i24q1/?utm_name=web3xcss

I have a Nextbase 622 with the added rear camera in my Tundra and my Mazda. I've had to send one back, but they work great and the HD video is amazing.

It is, I had a 2ch system in my Tacoma with the battery, which is also rather large. With the tundra I just did a garmin and slotted it into the stock dash cam harness. I like black vue, but we are talking about around 450 or so compared to 80 with the garmin and harness.

I got my Garmin for around $150 and I guess that was a steal because it looks like Garmin upped their prices
