    Hi All,

I just purchased the NorthStar 27F Battery for my 2010 Tundra 4x4 Platinum CrewMax. After a few days with the new battery, today my battery was dead, and wouldn't start.

Once I got the truck jumped, and drove home, I checked the connection, and noticed the + battery terminal, looks like it corroded, and about to break based on the following pic?

Any suggestions, on which terminal connectors I should use with the NorthStar?

Will this replacement work, or are there better ones?
    http://tinyurl.com/loejeu5

    Thanks,

Get the ones in your link they are factory style and will work very nice. Coat them in some dielectric grease or get battery cabLe protectant spray to prevent corrosion

These are awesome, especially if you have some add ons tied into battery. But a little spendy$$$$

yep bank account is running low from it..
I bought some for my tundra thanks to @csuviper for the source... . Imo it's the best I have seen yet for battery connections and multiple connections at once. .. they are heavy but very very well built and designed.

If you have the money go for it.

It's on my build page also on a lead acid battery.

They are very nice terminals. Made of aluminum so chance of galvanic corrosion over a long time but the company said they have never heard of an issue with them. Aluminum is a pretty good conductor. Better than lead.

Well I decided to go with the original terminal from Toyota. Truck starts better now. I may look into the high end ones that CSUVIPER suggested later.
Also, is there a way to clean the wire ends, that connect to the terminal? They looked really dirty. Brake cleaner maybe?

Also, can anyone tell me what the original negative battery cable looks like on the Tundra 5.7 4x4 engine?

This is what I currently have, and I believe its a aftermarket cable, but I want it replaced as well.

I went to O'Reilly Auto Parts, and they suggested the following replacement, but it looks odd to me.
    http://tinyurl.com/lrzexzt

I went ahead and selected the following, but not sure if it would work?

Clean with this. It will neutralize the acid.

I'd advise using a wire brush, and then a good coat of this. http://tinyurl.com/lkhx8k9 It'll seal the connector and prevent corrosion in the future. Any halfway decent auto parts store will have it.

A light coat of Fluid Film will keep battery terminals from corroding...just make sure you apply after all connections are tightened.

Looking for some advice on how you connected the factory positive (+) from your tundra harness to this new battery terminal? Mine has this “L” bracket attached to the end, which would likely attach to the new terminal, but the tabs near the end look like they will be in the way. I put an arrow at the “tab” I feel will be in the way...advice?

Are these still the go to connector? I’m about to replace my battery and want something like this.

Anyone find a solution to cover the positive terminal lead? I don’t feel comfortable with it exposed like this.

SDHQ has terminal covers? Photo/link please

I know it should be fine for the most part, but if anything accidentally touches that and any ground, that will be bad news.

because the harness lead can't make it any further. Some moved it horizontal but I don't like how close it is to the battery tie down like that.
