@monaco730 the link I sent earlier was before you cleared up the air on the difference of with and without resi.

I love @sdhq_offroad they got great stuff and great prices too. Will probably go through them.

@GiantsFanDan I do appreciate the help. I think like @Alexstundra said I'll cry when I do it but I'll never look back from the decision.

There are tons of variables that come into play when picking the correct setup for your needs/ wants.

One thing that you need to also keep in mind here is that most of the kits you are looking into (KING, ICON, FOX) will need to be removed from the vehicle (manufacturers recommendation of every 40-60K) and sent in for a rebuild/ service (if you are not able to do it yourself) to insure the proper life, performance and durability possible.

All the options you are looking into are amazing options but MAY be overkill for you actual needs. Every option you listed has their amazing pros VS cons overall.

Our standard BOSS 2.0 kit will offer great on road/ offroad performance, full ride height adjustable coilovers in the front, double zinc coated bodies, specific valving within the shock to optimize ride quality and performance overall. Our BOSS kit is specifically designed as a "Daily driver/ weekend warrior" kit, and IF a shock starts to leak it will be a simple replace of a shock itself, no need to have the vehicle down longer than needed, especially if its your daily driver vehicle.

ICON - Digressive valving within the shocks themselves to offer a better higher speed style driving experience with optimal performance offroad. - Rebuildable

KING - Progressive valving within the shocks themselves to offer you a better slower speed style driving experience. - Rebuildable

BOSS - Progressive "specific" valving within the shock to optimize ride quality on and offroad. - Not rebuildable, replaceable shocks. Regardless we can get you taken care of no problem at all, here at Toytec we offer all the major brands from KING, ICON, Etc in stock here ready to rock and roll.

Feel free to give us a call anytime at 303-255-4959 and we can get you taken care of.

I’ve run a version of all of the Fox Tundra shocks. Didn't matter 0-2” or 0-3” with the 2.5 shocks, they had 3.5”+ lift out of the box. The lowest I could set them was 2 3/8” lift. 2.0 had 2 1/4” lift out of the box, didn’t adjust.

I have Fox 2.5s up front and 2.0s in rear. I'm sitting on close to 8" lift. The ride is not stock feeling at all but I like a firm ride in a 4x4 rig. My 2WD Sequoia sits on Bilstein 5100s on all 4 corners and it feels as smooth as it did on stock shocks. On the lowest setting it was lifted 0.75" so if you were to put it on the highest setting you'd probably get close to 3" if lift (someone else probably has it set up that way so they can chime in if that's true). Point is for what you're wanting to do, Bilsteins can get the job done and not break your wallet or kill your ride quality.

Note: the shop who put my 2.5s in mentioned they could go higher with them if wanted - I replaced my 6" readylift spacer so that gives you an idea on the versatility of them

    I've got the toytec/radflo collabs

Had I done it over again, would have gone ADS or King (90% sure ADS)

I just think the others provide better quality and the trucks i've ridden in with King and ADS were much smoother and better off road. I'm currently rebuilding mine and goign from the 700lb spring toytec put on them, to a 600 lb spring. That may help....even radflo didn't understand why they went with a 700lb spring as it's heavier then anyone else puts on these kits and should only be used when you've got a lot of gear up front.

Now that said, everyone has different needs/wants. I always shoot for the best i can buy and generally go overkill on suspension. I'll offroad a few times a year, everything from fast sand dunes, to slow as shit rock crawling, but spend 98% of the time on the hwy.

My low mileage Tundra came with the Toytec ultimate 3" on it i love it alot. My recommendation tho if you do go with it , for the rear go add a leaf or shackle (not block) . An make sure to get the SPC upper adjustable control arm.

The question should start with what’s your budget.

Just installed the ToyTec 2.5 Aluma. After trying to keep up with a lifted Rubicon in Utah the lift was needed. Only road use so far but drives smooth, no complaints. I have the Toyota Bilstein front and rear shocks and original upper arms and rear shackles if anyone knows some people looking for an extra set. Came from a 2019 double cab with 10,000 miles

I bought a 2016 trail edition forerunner back in February 2017. Love it. Full package KDSS etc. Install icon to lift system with the additional control arm. Set it to 3 inches. It is the best system.

Any of them cranked to 3.5 inches of lift will ride like garbage....

I just ordered the wrong fox shocks, 883-02-021, and was going to cancel the order, because I wanted 2.5-2.75" of lift to make up for my ranch hand summit I just ordered. So I might be okay with the ones I got and can get another 1/2 to 3/4? I just want to end at 2" of lift.

Max height for those shocks are 2". We typically recommend actual lift height to be slightly under that for the best ride quality. At 2" or more, you run the risk of driving around with the shocks topped out and not providing the best ride.

    Lots of shenanigans.
Would there be any issues with running the Kings 3.0 with RR in the front and 2.5 with RR in the rear?

If properly tuned it can be fine, however that 3.0 DIA Coilover up front is not needed. Matching 2.5 DIA front and rear will work great for most applications.

Probably all great advice but I have the ICON 2.5 VS RR CDCV up front and the 2.0’s in the back, and love the ride on pavement. Started with the clicker up front on 5, ended up with it at 6 for a good blend of on-road manners for me and the family. It’s not Cadillac-plush, it’s more like firm and planted confidence-inspiring handling without being harsh or jouncy at all.

I bought ICON specifically after researching digressive vs progressive. I primarily wanted great highway-speed handling on pavement and great performance on poorly-maintained roads, and I got it in spades. The off-road reputation speaks for itself, although I very rarely need it.
