Root beer, on tap Big Ugly Brewing Chesapeake VA. O ABV. Seriously the best root beer I've ever had.

Had this raspberry matches sour from Side A Brewing the other day. My wife said it was a bit tart/sour but I really liked it.

Pink Cadillac from Big Ugly Brewing, Chesapeake VA. Graf cider hybrid.

Graf is basically apple juice mixed with beer wort. This one is infused with cranberries. I was surprised when I sampled this. Definently not a cider. Tart, but not sour. Good on a sunny afternoon. I'll buy it again as long as they have it on tap.

One Night in the Thicket, Berliner weisse ale with raspberries from the Virginia Beer Co in Williamsburg VA. Raspberries seem to be popular in beer right now, must be the season? Very crisp and refreshing. And at 4.9 ABV you can have a few and not fall out of your chair.

Form last week, and don’t remember the details but it’s a CO local I enjoyed while in Seattle. Pretty decent stout that needed more chocolate flavor

If you do and it's feeding time, it's close to a good restaurant called 2nd Street Bistro. I recommend it. Let me know when you're going to be in OBX. If the timing is right we can make a day or overnight trip.

Punch Yourself from Oozlefinch Beers-Blending on Fort Monroe in Hampton VA

Sour ale with raspberry puree, raspberry sherbet, pink lemonade, vanilla and lactose. Really smooth and drinkable. But at 8% abv, a little is enough.

Unfiltered @Darkness haha, if I ever had a podcast that'd be the name. Tastes a bit like if an IPA and a Shandy had a baby, quite a tasty treat really without the overwhelming lemonade flavor.

This should be said. I live in Southern California and over the last 15 years a million breweries have come and go. Lately they tend to go one way or the other: let's make some fruit enfused nonsense or let's make 5 kinds of bad IPA and see how much we can push the alcohol. Pretty bad trends here.

My brother in law goes to these kinds of places and the last 2 years I've opened many a beer he handed me only to dread finishing it.

3 weeks ago he stayed over for the weekend and gave me a can of beer he picked up in LA. Its made in Torrance, the brewery is called Monkfish and the beer is called Foggy Window. I gave a fake smile, thanked him, and in my garage fridge it went. I'm out of beer today, so I cracked it open and poured it.

Its not what I expected. A double IPA with 8.1 abv and a hazy light yellow color. I instantly thought awesome its gonna be citrus shit, but no, it isn't. It isn't insanely bitter either. Its hazy and very neutral for lack of a better word, not the bitterness of the usual double. A little more like a pale ale than an IPA, not the hops overload. I would buy a few 4 packs of this if I see it.

Excuse the glass, thats from Lost Brewery.

I rarely drink IPA the last few years. Used to enjoy it until it got hard to find one I liked.

No need to knock beer that actually has flavour. What style (s) do you like, boomer?

It just annoys me when I go into these ‘breweries’ and everyone is wearing rolled up skinny jeans, a beanie and a flannel. The menu has 9 IPAs of the 11 beers and the other two are a Pilsner and a cider.
I don’t particularly like the taste of hops though I can deal with it as long as there are other flavors. Most IPAs all I taste are hops.

I used to be a huge IPA guy, Then it commercialized. IE: dogfish head is right down the road and I avoid it at all cost. Feels like a college bar.

This brewery has changed my mind about sours. Possibly my favorite brewery of all time.

We've only recently been getting Yuengling here, and I've taken a real liking to their Black and Tan. I gave on to a friend a week or so back, and he said "You're always into some exotic import!" When I informed him Yuengling is the oldest brewery in America he just stared at me. :)

    In progress…
I recently stopped after work to get a sixer of Yuengling but they were out. I saw some Flight (which is a light beer made by Yuengling) and bought a six pack. I was pleasantly surprised. I’m not a light beer guy but I really liked the taste and enjoyed it. I’ve been drinking it ever since.
