Some beer reviews are great. Others, are like a $5 BOGO hooker off Colfax.

The brews in my next few posts were all consumed yesterday with @HornFrog and @sunnysideTRD.

Hop and Sting Brewery | Grapevine, TX.
Hop to be Square, Vol. 4 | New England IPA
    7.7 % ABV, 45 IBU

Super crisp and fruity with a great bite from the multiple different hops used in this brew. Hints of pineapple and orange, and another tropical citrus I couldn't put my finger on. This one went down way too easy

This beer was like drinking a snickerdoodle! Very very light, not too sweet, and lots of cinnamon, vanilla, and caramel. Super smooth and multiples could easily put back in quick succession.

I'm a big fan of stouts, and this one is fantastic. Dark, creamy, smooth, and even at 80 IBU it was still sweet and very palatable. Dark fruity undertones, a hint of chocolate, and a bit of lactose on the back end.

Anyone try Omission beers? https://www.drinkomission.com/beer I love their Ultimate Light, nothing light tasting about it, very IPA like.

Hundreds of craft brews in Austin yet I really like Johnson City's craft brewery: https://www.pecanstreetbrewing.com/

Got everything from Screw Loose Blondes to Pecan Coffee Stouts, don't want to mention the %s here, its a family site...haha...

Aromas of sugar with a small hint of fruit.
Taste of sweet sugar- just like the label describes. Plum pudding. Even the wife, who doesn’t like beer enjoyed trying this one.

Went to ship them yesterday but the shipping place by my house was closed for the holiday and I never had a chance to try somewhere else. Damn work. I read a sign in their window about prohibited items to ship. Alcohol is on that list. So, thinking back to when I worked for FedEx and seeing what packages go through when the public is not watching made me kind of nervous about shipping them the way I originally packed them, with just bubble wrap. So, today I went to office depot and bought a big ass bag of packing peanuts and another box to split up the shipment for extra security. Will be sending tomorrow.

Ive been thinking about getting 1 of these. It would work good for trading, if yall shared the box and worth the price if used mulriple times. Can double or maybe even triple stack cans and possibly double up bottles. Although some bubble wrap may need to be used.Screenshot_20200122-050108_Amazon Shopping.jpg

Very strong aromas of tangerine and vanilla. Even the taste of tangerine and vanilla are pretty strong. Just like an orange creamsicle. It's pretty carbonated for an ale. Has a slight aftertaste of a lager, at least to me. This one is legit!

I didn't take any photos last night at Martin House with @Larmand so the next few don't have any action shots :(
Here is a shot looking out the back door of the brewery at downtown Fort Worth to make up for it:
    20200124_090248.jpg

Martin House Brewing | Fort Worth, TX.
Tres Leches | 4 separate beers in a series (vanilla, cinnamon, coconut, and a cherry sour)
    5.6% ABV, ???IBU

So, they have a mix of all four flavors on tap, but we were advised by the bartender that the 'quadfecta' wasn't that great, as the sour cherry overpowers the other three. So I did a mix of the other three together in one glass, and it was fantastic! This beer is smooth as silk, and supremely easy to drink. I could put a few back without blinking. Very light, loads of coconut, lots of vanilla, and the cinnamon made a very slight appearance.

This beer is a cinnamon raisin bagel dubbel that was inspired by Seinfeld's Festivus episode. So, I really didn't like this beer at all. I couldn't taste any of the advertised flavors and was pretty bummed. It was tough to drink too, real bitter and harsh on the palate. 2/10 here boys & girls.

I had to try this one, as they've been advertising it for a while now. It was alright, I wouldn't call it a "go-to" by any means, but it was a fun one to try at least. It wasn't as full-bodied as most stouts, but it was fairly dark and not quite at a porter-level of light and smoothness. Not much maple in the flavor profile, and the meat-spiced undertones kinda threw me off. All-in-all it was decent, but not life changing.

I am a big IPA guy, so when I saw a black IPA on the menu, I had to try it. I was not disappointed at all! This thing was tasty. Very hoppy with plenty of IPA punch, while still being crisp and refreshing. A good bit of citrus undertones that I wasn't quite able to place, and a touch of sourness on the back end. I really liked this one, and wish they canned it. :pout:

Half Baked | Whiskey Barrel-Aged Pumpkin Pie Ale
    12% ABV!, ???IBU

So, I saw "half baked" and "pumpkin pie" and just instantly went for it. What I didn't realize was that this was a whiskey barrel-aged ale, which did NOT work with the flavor profile of the beer. The lightness of the ale and the flavor of the pumpkin and pumpkin spice were wayyyy overshadowed by the whiskey overtones. I made it about a quarter of the way through the glass and had them dump it.

Martin House Brewing | Fort Worth, TX.
    Strawberry Cheesecake | Cream Ale
    5.5% ABV, ???IBU

Hands down my favorite beer of the night!! This beer is considered a cream ale, and Martin House does them super well. They find a way to make the beer not only taste creamy, but feel creamy too. The flavors were all there, lots of strawberry, plenty of cheesecake, and that bit of creaminess that lingers after tasting. Yet another I wish they would can. It really reminded me of the strawberry waffle cone ice cream ale they did last summer
