Why can’t the power bed step be added to tundras with trd option? I have a 1794 edition with TRD option no bed step and you can’t order one . I saw somewhere on forum why they can’t be optioned with bed step , but can’t find it

Following. I’ve got the same truck. While we’re at it, what do you think of the black TRD components with the 1794 chrome?

I like the black parts more so than the chrome , but will say the combination of both is good for me , just a bit of both I also have the celestial silver truck so it kind of blends with the chrome.

It doesn't appear to be configurable that way from Toyota's website. You can either get the TRD package, or Advanced package, but not both. Also, I believe some others have tried to figure out how to order the power boards and were unable, but you could always look at amp research steps, though you may still be out of luck with the bed step. Otherwise you can get the manual bed step from Toyota.

I just bought the manual version. Motorized would be kinda cool.

Thanks I just don't know what is different about the mounting of power bedstep because it is TRD . I understand that Toyota has its way of doing things , are they not adding power bed step option to TRD equipped trucks because they are afraid people would damage them going off road?
I know I can order a manual step from toyota.

Could be that the power boards aren't suitable for off-road use. I am already worried that I will need to disable mine in the snow because of snow buildup. I can only imagine mud, sand, gravel, etc getting stuck in the mechanism of those being even worse. That would be my guess as to why you can't get them with the off-road package.

I don’t know why, but I did confirm with 2 dealers that the power options aren’t available for pros or TRD models.

I also called AMP and they said the steps wouldn’t be available until the beginning of 23.
