Again....you can say the same about driving.
In my world you spend way more time behind the wheel then you do shooting.
And again I'm very safety conscious when I shoot.
If anything I'm probably more aware than most.
Hell, all ya gotta do is go to an outdoor range and look up.
The cover is so full of bullet holes it looks like Swiss Cheese.....with extra holes.
Which is why I avoid public ranges like the plague.
If there's that many holes overhead it makes you wonder how many accidental discharges went elsewhere?
Not to mention I trust My Buddy I shoot with.
He's every bit as cautious as I am.
Way back in my teenage years I had a Buddy who'd leaned his 4-10 against a propane tank with one still in the chamber and his Nephew was swinging a stick around like little kids will do.
The Kids name was Chad,He knocked it over and it went off and caught him in the lower right side of His back.
He never walked the same again since it tore the muscles up so badly.
While it sucked it made a Huge Impression on me!!

this thread is proof that this forum is, in fact, social media. in all of its beautifully cringy glory, this is absolutely social media. only thing missing is the tik tok video showing those 2 beers are actually 40s.

You said buzzed earlier, that = impaired judgement

The fact you admit to doing that and shooting at a lake. Man I hope it’s not a lake I venture.

You have nothing to worry about.
It's very expensive to get on the place.

Hey, guess what? Freedom loving, Pro-2A, responsible multiple gun owning Minnesotan here. There's quite a few of us actually, you probably shouldn't generalize.
Curious how your brother took to you taking it upon yourself to teach his kids something as important as gun safety?
Maybe he was there also and was cool with it? I don't want to assume too much.
If he wasn't there, based on what I know from your comments in this thread and others, I'd be pissed as fcuk.
If either of you had a casual beer or two while "teaching them firearm safety," I'd say his wife had every right to shit bricks about it.
I agree they should learn firearm safety.
I'm thinking you're not the guy to be teaching.

The preceding comments are my opinion.
    You're entitled to your own.

    Locked.

Knew this was going to happen. This thread has turned into a debate if you should/shouldn't be buzzed while handling guns.

It's about as ridiculous as if you should screw a 5.00 hooker without a condom.

Either scenario you can die. One is just a bit slower.

    One last thing...

It would be totally fine if Law Enforcement had a few lunch beers right?

What about our nations finest in the military? They should be able to have beers and carry around M4's right?

Let's not leave out those heart surgeons. Have a few lunch brews to calm down before your double bypass?

Why stop there. How about a couple lines of Coke?

Pretty sure I have had enough internet for today. People actually arguing that it's totally fine to be impaired and handle weapons.

"Oh but gun owners are responsible"...

The fuck they are and we just proved it. Congrats.
