Do you have any idea how thick those shins are? My cap is leaking between the rails and the bed so I am going to shim with some adhesive EPDM shims and seal. 1/8” 1/4”??

Looks like about a quarter inch. They sent me more than needed, or I did something wrong.

Got my DB HD just 30 min ago and started putting on center and front/back, then went to look at the instructions for clamp-down when I saw "Bed Rail Cap Shim Installation Guide"... and was like wth is this I don't remember seeing this in ANY youtube videos! lol... Oh well, glad I checked out the tundras forums before I went any further! I'll definitely be taking off the cover and putting these shims on first!

Absolutely. I can still say after a year, I have no leaks at all.

In fact, it is so sealed up that with our warm winter this year, I’m actually getting mildew back there:eek2:.

But no leaks, and no cap distortion.

Still LOVE my DB- one of the best purchases by far.

Are the ones on eBay as good as stock? I want to make sure my tonneau seals. Thansk!

Thanks for the great writeup. I'm going to reach out to DB now and see if they'll push some shims my way.
