Hey guys! Does anyone know if there's a manufacturer out there that doesn't use the factory deck rail system to mount their Bed Rack to?

I've looked and it seems they all use the factory deck rails...

Custom that mounts to bed bolts probably your real only other option.

Just wondering, why are you looking for something that doesn't mount into the bed rail system?

@dcsleeper408 Well for one...the dealers factory spray on bed liner they did covered all the holes for the deck rail system. I called the dealer back and they wanted hundreds of dollars to fix it. It seemed like it was their problem to begin with, but whatever.

I figured my next options would be one of a couple things...Go pay line-x to professionally do my liner OR see about a different type of bed rack.

I would talk to corporate if you want to go that route... Do you have any pictures? Possible to drill it out and then chase it with a tap.

I took my request to Corporate. They'll contact the dealership and they have two days to respond to me.

Couple people have drilled out the holes through the bedliner. One person I remember got measurements from another member and poked at it until he found the hole. The factory bedliner is really thin and gives a little when you press on it where the hole is. I'd probably give that a shot before dealing with corporate.

Also remember a couple of members going back to the dealer and having it done by the dealers with no fuss at all. I think someone got something free out of it too for their trouble.

this is what I'm hoping for. Don't want anything free necessarily but just want them to take care of the issue!

As a follow up to my story. I called corporate last Wednesday. They got me in touch with the regional service manager and he stated today he’d give me their employee pricing to drill out the holes that the spray liner covered. “Their price” is $242. I think this is ridiculous!

To drill out holes that they covered preventing you from putting on a factory part? That’s so ridiculous. Just do it yourself, it won’t be that difficult. And call your dealer and tell them they’ve lost any future business from you.

That is literally exactly what I said on the phone. So I can’t add a factory part because you guys covered the holes. They said it comes from Toyota that way.

Agreed 100%. That's a pretty piss poor showing from the regional.

I think tomorrow I’ll call Corporate and let them know what their local dealership said. Figured that’s my next best option....

Ours will mount with or without the deck rail option.

    With our No-Drill Clips.

The attach under the little lip that folds down inside your bed, and act like a clamp. This is how the rack is used with other brands that don't have a deck rail option (most trucks).

That's cool! I still want to get this sorted out through Toyota. Seems like an error they should fix, but thanks for giving me a plan B!

I think adding the deck rails is a pretty simple process if you wanted to go that route.

Yes, the only thing is the factory spray on bed liner covered the holes where the deck rails would mount to...

Got to the dealer take measurements of a truck with the track system holes then re drill yours. I’m sure someone on here could get them for you off their truck, I would but I’m out of state.

If all else fails just get some uni Strut use that as your rail system and drill the holes pretty much where ever you want.

You have to careful because those are tapped holes.

Locate, drill out the liner with a small bit, then chase the threads with a tap.

I, admittedly, have no experience with chasing a threads with a tap.
