I spent the better part of the day modifying the previous owner's step bars. I was able to relocate them further back. They are much more practical now and provide a step for front and rear passengers. Best of all they only cost me about 4 dollars in new hardware.

I got my compact cargo carrier put together today. I wanted one just big enough to carry my cooler and some firewood for camping trips.

Screenshot_2018-06-27-15-29-33.jpg Got the camper top Line-x'd and reinstalled. The tech cleaned up some of the wiring and installed a constant hot 12v outlet for me. About all I have left to do is touch up the paint on the rack (today when the rain stops) and order some seat covers from Wet Okole. I'm also interested in some A-pillar lights. If anyone knows of a good bracket let me know.

Does that cargo carrier have a lock? If not I definitely would put a yeti cooler back there

I have a locking hitch pin, but nothing to prevent the cooler from getting stolen. I was just test fitting it after I got it assembled. It will only be on there for camping trips.

Nice job on this Tundra. A few simple things made a big difference. Those rims match nicely. That rack goes well with the cap.

    Thanks.
Took it out for it''s first adventure today. It was the maiden voyage for our stand up paddleboard. I really like all the tie down options on the rack vs. traditional crossbars. I was as graceful as a newborn calf.

Anybody have any firsthand experience with Wet Okole seat covers? Thinking about getting these. I heard they are prone to fading. Definitely going to get a windshield visor and some tint on the windows to try and protect them.

No firsthand experience but they are popular with 4runners and tacos. Plus they compliment your beach theme perfectly.

And keep practicing on the SUP, you’ll get your balance and confidence soon. Keep those knees bent and stay loose.

I had Wet Okole covers in my first gen. They are great covers. He'd mine for 16 Years. They do fade a little but, it was quite awhile before you really start to notice. The drivers side started to come apart on me after about 12 years of sliding my butt across the seat. The only problem with them is stain resistancey. I would recommend spraying them with scotch guard before installing. Nice looking Truck

Awesome. 16 years! I've never had seat covers but that sounds like a pretty good lifespan. Thanks for the info.

This is probably a newb question but I’m assuming the 4Runner rims are a direct fit? I’m not too familiar with all the dimensions of rims or their effects...

I love the stance of this truck. What kind of lift/level do you have?

Looks like about a 2in spacer in the front and I keep about 30 psi in the rear airbags with the camper top. It was already leveled when I bought it.

I had Old Man Emu 883 coil springs with the stock Bilstein shocks on my taco. It leveled it nicely and rode pretty well. I'd like to find a similar setup for the Tundra without having to add a leaf. I sent an email to Slee Off road to get their input. If anybody has gone this route, please let me know.

I posted this in the lighting forum, but figured it might get some more 1st gen attention here.
Trying to figure out why my low beams are always on. Low beams come on as soon as the parking brake is released and the ignition is on (switch in off position). DRL module does not appear to be tampered with. I ordered a new headlight relay, but most of the relay failures I've researched on line made the lights stay on even after turning off the ignition. Anyone ever have this issue? Maybe the switch is bad?

Mine has DTR (day time running lights) that operate all the time when truck is started (even when headlight switch on turn signal lever is OFF). Just my low beam headlights operate during DTR mode (not side or rear lights). Not sure if this helps.
