at the point in the video when the wife rolls the window back up and the tundra is trying to go up the ditch you can see slack in the strap, it was moving on its own, but being connected to the ford it couldn't get away.

You have it all wrong. I'm sure the tundra was pushing the Ford out of that mess. All I'm going to say is, that is one stiff rope.

 

I see shit like this all the time in Colorado. Some dip shit from a warm weather state (usually Californians ) buy their first 4 wheel drive and think they will never get stuck again. They will fly by me in a nasty snow storm doing 60.
4 wheel drive helps but its easy to get them stuck or lose control. It’s really just another tool in the shed and a useful one if you have your head out of your ass.
