I’ve had 2 truestart batteries and they were 5 yrs old and 6 years old. They were in a Camry and Tacoma and traded them both in. Never had a problem with them.

Just went to two Duralast platinum AGM 24F batteries. The second one is for running a fridge. Same CCA as the stock 27F.

There is a big difference between a Tacoma and a Tundra. The 5.7 will take a toll on any battery. I honestly dont think Toyotas batteries are bad. I am on my second one and I have a 2016 Tundra. So about 3 years is normal for this beast.

The Nothstar I BOUGHT for my 2010 Tundra has been in the truck going on 5 years. I have no idea if and when it'll ever fail.0424190427[2965].jpg

I've had excellent result with True Start batteries. The batteries in BOTH my Tacoma and Tundra are 27F's.

The factory battery in my '15 Tacoma lasted until this past spring (6 years). The battery was still going strong and tested well, but, 84 month True Start batteries (2 year free replacement) were on sale here, so, I replaced both the Tacoma and '07 Tundra batteries at the same time with True Start 27F's. This was the 3rd True Start battery for my Tundra after 14 years. (If my Tundra sits for more than a week, I keep a battery minder on it)

Back in March 2020 I needed a new battery. I got the diehard platinum. By June it wasn't holding its charge. So they replaced it and here it is August and it keeps dying. I'm think because of my alarm and my short ride back and forth to work has something to do with it not fully charging. Do I order the

I had an odyssey prior to the diehard and never had a problem. Let's see.

Just replacing the battery may not be enough. A lot of batteries die due to the low voltage charge that is programed into the alternator.

There is another thread on here about Voltage Boosters you might want to look at.
The Mike Singer Voltage Booster Stage 1 or Stage 2 depending on how much you want to boost your voltage from your alternator.
You can also swap out a chip in the engine bay fuse box or try the HKB Voltage Booster.

Seems the factory setting on the alternator is approx 13.6. Discussion says that AGM batteries need higher charge. With the mods you get 14.4 or higher depending on the route you take.

After reading the threads I went with an AGM Battery and the Singer VB Stage 1.

Just had to "top it off" after 9 years. I'll shop for an X2 if it's the Northstar replacement.
