Thank you. She is. Just January sucked. Loaned some money out first week, battery went out the following week, fire and my daughter the week after that, then the last week of January, we got a broken windshield and had to pay for that. Deductible was $250. So far 2022 hates me. LOL

Thanks for the breakdown. I figured the exchange rate would be cheaper for U.S. Has yours been working well for you? Any electrical issues? Is it just a "pull the old fuse out and put this one in" kind of install?

Glad to hear she is doing better!

I ordered on eBay 2/5/22 and it arrived today at the same cost as yours. Chase Bank also charged a foreign exchange fee on my credit card ($2.00).

Mine has been working great. I used the GM diode for a couple weeks until the HKB arrived. The GM diode had to be shaved down before installing to fit, the HKB just gets swapped like a normal fuse. It seemed like it was a tight fit pushing it into place, but it went in without any issues. Works just like it states. No electrical issues to date. I'm a little curious though if anything will be said when taking it into Toyota for service - say for example they do a battery test would they see the higher voltage come through and suspect a problem?

I can't remember how mine was sent, but I don't think either of those. 3 weeks or less for me. Maybe two.

That's a good question about the higher voltage. I know they do a battery test durng the oil change. That's how I found out my battery went bad. I know someone who is a service manager for the local Toyota. I could ask him. But I try not to tell him everything I did to the truck. LOL. I'm still within my warranty. I'll let them figure it out.

I ordered through their shop too. I didn't see the Ebay option until after I ordered though. I ordered Wednesday and received an email this morning that it was shipped. You may want to contact them if you haven't received notification yet.

Curious if anyone else has noticed a boost to their phone charging time? (HKB) I took a road trip this past weekend and I swear my phone charged hella faster than before...

Sorry everyone as I never got notifications to new post on this thread.

    1. I got notified through eBay and given an Australian Post/China Post tracking number. Using their website was user friendly and gave the important updates (cleared customs, in transit, etc.). It went from Australian to LAX and waited to clear customs. Once it hit the US then USPS takes over and took another 2-3 business days to get to me on the East coast.

    2. I've had an AGM battery for over a year now and had no issues. Past couple of months I've been working from home and drive the truck 1-2 times every 2 weeks, so I started noticing the battery dying. Took it to Advance Auto and battery tested fine, but needed a charge. Got it charged and within 2 weeks again it wouldn't start. So this time I took it to a car audio specialist and they ran a parasitic draw test to find nothing. Their scanner said battery needed to be charged again (this was last week), but cells are fine.

    3. I installed the fuse and first time turning the truck on my scanguage was reading upwards of 14.8V then slowly backed down to 14.6V while idling. Before starting the truck my battery read 11.2V. After idling for 10 minutes the battery read 12.2V when I turned the truck off. Yesterday, I drove the truck and while driving I was getting readings mostly around 14.3-14.5V when it would normally be 13.8-14.0V.

Thanks for the information! I received a tracking number, but no link of what carrier they were using. I ordered through the website, so I'm just waiting to see when it arrives.

I used a trickle charger for my AGM a week ago, so hopefully that'll be good enough until the HKB arrives. I've been monitoring it thought. I have a dual usb charger with the voltage on it. And a bluetooth monitor I hook up every so often to see what it shows.

Does the AMP on the HKB match the ALT-S fuse that is being pulled out? I finally was able to open up the fuse box and make sure I had the ALT-S fuse. Thankfully I did. The HKB just goes in. There's no certain way, correct? I know with an Add-A-Fuse, there's a hot side that has to be on the correct side of the fuse 'port'.

It is most likely Australian Post so google Australian Post and you'll find the tracking website.

I gave HKB my year/make/model and they shipped a 7.5amp fuse, however, I had a 5A fuse located in the ALT-S location. After a quick search on the forums people have ran the 7.5A HKB fuse in place of a 5A factory fuse with no issues so I went ahead with the installation.

HKB provides an instruction sheet with pictures and contact information. On the instruction sheet it says if you install the fuse and your battery light comes on your dash, then remove the fuse and reverse it. If you still have a battery light on after reversing the fuse to contact them.

I did notice once I installed the HKB fuse it fit nice and snug...snug enough that I was having a hard time removing it with the fuse puller. Luckily mine was installed correctly and no battery light came on.

You were right. Australian Post. Found the tracking number. On the way over the ocean.

Thanks for the information again. I'm wondering if there's a way to test the fuse to determine which way it should go in? I sent them a message earlier. Although they never responded to the one I sent weeks ago.

Just a side note. I may need to check the lid to my fuse box. There's a layer of dirt all over everything inside. Haven't seen a fuse box that dirty before. I thought they were supposed to be almost air tight to protect from moisture. eh...

Finally got my HBK fuse and installed it on my 'free time'. Started it up, and got the battery light. Turned it off and turned the fuse around and the battery light went away on the next start up. Someone said the fuse is a tight fit. They were correct. So far getting around 14.7 at start up. I think it hasn't gone below 14.0 driving around. So far so good, I guess. There was a question brought up here or another thread about whether the alternator is working harder now. If so, will it burn out faster? Thanks for all the help everyone! Now on to installing a driver's side grab handle....

Unrelated to Tundra but I just picked up an AGM battery for my motorcycle, it's a 2005. Is it a common problem for AGM batteries not to get charged fully or just a Tundra issue? Also I plug in my battery every time I park my bike so it shouldn't really be an issue correct?

Burn out faster I personally don't think so! My tundra has the 150 an the reason Trudra limits alternator output is to get better gas mileage to pass epa laws ! As stated you may get lower gas mileage because it is working harder!!

It is not a Tundra unique issue. If the automobile wasn't set up to charge AGMs, over time the battery will degrade. You are properly mitigating this issue by plugging the battery up to a charger.

From what I can remember had to remove a little plastic in order for the new plug to fit but it's not much.

This might sound like a stupid question. But, what is a AGM battery? The reason I’m asking is my battery died on me. And I ordered an optima red top. I’m hoping the one I ordered, I can put it in and that’s it.

Unfortunately your new absorbent glass mat (AGM) battery will require some maintenance on the Tundra. The Tundras charging system will not charge up to the level that AGM's are happy at. So you either have to charge the AGM with an appropriate charger at least once a month or get another device that increases the stock charging system output. So if you want to put it in and forget it you should cancel that order and get a normal battery.

Guess I should have been more specific I was referring to wiring? Did you place this new or replace an existing one we had? I read it needs to be hooked directly to battery for the voltmeter to work? If you replaced (not fresh install in a dummy plate) did the stock wires allow the voltmeter to work? TIA!

Sorry I did misunderstand, I used the stock wiring. I just cut out the stock 12V plug and hooked up the voltmeter to the stock wires, then made the hole fit the voltmeter. Maybe it's not exactly accurate but that doesn't matter to me.

I have never checked it against the battery, probably should, but again it's just a basic monitor for me to tell me when I need to throw the AGM on the charger. I charge my AGM battery at least once a month to keep it happy.

@Wallygator do you notice a difference in charging speed? It advertises "quick charge" capability so I'm curious.
