8” is a lot more mellow. Don’t get me wrong the budget dump sounds really good. I just want something more low key.

I got mine installed Wednesday and went for a long drive to the coast with the family on Thursday. I would agree with your assessment, I actually found between 30-40mph to be pretty drone-y. 60-70 was ok as long as I managed my rpm’s. That exhaust screams and has a good rasp to it. I also don’t have my resonator on, but plan to install in this weekend hopefully.

Overall I like it much more than stock, but it’s definitely more aggressive than I prefer. I totally knew it was going to be when I purchased it so nothing remotely negative about the system itself. It’s a V8 straight pipe after all, so you know what to expect. I definitely think with the resonator I will be very satisfied with it.

I will also say that after about 200 miles I feel like it has settled quite a bit, but that could also just be me getting used to it. I’m hoping I can find some to bust out the GoPro this weekend and go take some clips to upload.

Appreciate the feedback here. I’m going no resonator. I don’t want to tame any of this roar.

    Sounds angry. I like it.

I’m still in love with my 10” and no resonator. So is every single person that rides in my truck, including the diesel and American V8 guys.
If I was single and wasn’t trying to hide the exhaust from the wife, I would have had Keith build a 9” which he said he could do.
    I’m guessing a 9” is the money.

And don’t get me wrong, deep down the kid in me wants the race pipes with JBA headers so it’s the nastiest, loudest thing on the road. But I’d need long travel, and a supercharger to back up the bark.
And it would have to be vehicle #4 that is my fun toy, not my drive camping with the family truck. Lol

After you put the resonator on, it will be perfect. The resonator made a world of difference with mine.

That’s looks pretty great. I pondered getting something similar as well. Ended up going with a Borla 4” black chrome one instead, just haven’t put it on yet.

One more quick anecdote I forgot to mention in my above post.

When I went and picked my truck up from the installer he said: “Couple weeks ago I put a $1200 Corsa system on a Tundra for a guy and it barely changed the sound. You aren’t going to have that problem...” with a wry smile on his face

Installed the resonator. Absolutely incredible. I didn’t expect much but there is zero noticeable drone with the windows down from 1200rpm-2000. Everything above 2k makes me giggle with joy. I was happy with the straight pipes, but this is perfect. Makes going down the highway a lot better.

The resonator tames it, sure. But if you’re doing any highway driving it’s a necessity. When I step on it, it makes noise just like without the resonator. But cruising, it’s silent.

Do they make stainless bolts to replace the stock flange bolts? Mine are so rusted I need new ones before I attempt to install.

installed today. wow is all i can say! the system sounds amazing. i haven't done the resonator yet.... might, might not lol

One quick question would be about the tailpipe gasket: would it be ok to loosen the flange for the install of the resonator and re-use the gasket? Thanks!

You can reuse it. Just be careful taking it apart. Drop it and it’s dead. But as long as it stays on the system it’s perfectly fine to reuse it.

Alright everybody, I had some free time tonight so here is a little sound porn for you. I installed the resonator this weekend which almost completely eliminated the drone, all I can hear now is that sweet rasp. Also chopped and painted my tailpipe & then added a Borla black chrome exhaust tip. Loving this system and the resonator really made it close to perfect. Enjoy!

Factory tailpipe attached to it. Chopped it off where it flares at the end. Drilled the 2” hole and attached the resonator.

This is my first yeah. If you mean the picture that’s the stock tailpipe I painted black and reattached to the budget system.

Thanks man! Yeah I made to sure to do all at the same time as I knew it wouldn’t really be possible after putting on the resonator. Definitely a sweet sounding system for sure!

I checked the clearance on the front skid plate and totally didn’t think about the rear sway bar :D happy to say GoPro’s are pretty damn tough and it still works just fine.
