I would be interested in this too. A bed rack that would keep the roof top tent even with the height of the cab.

It's hard to tell looking at the pics on your website, but something similar to the low profile design for Tacomas.

Id be willing to do a low profile rack for the Tundras as well if the interest is out there.

Low profile in the stake holes for a DC. It would be nice to keep my retractable tonneau on and be able to fit in the garage without removing the RTT.

The big problem with that would be the plates that sit on the bed rails would warp like crazy without the bend in them. The rack would really look nothing like this one it would need to be completely redesigned.

I'm looking for a low profile rack as well For my double cab. Want a rtt but still want to be able to go through drive through and get in some parking structures. Ideal would be the rtt at cab height.

I have a low profile rack that has pros and cons. RTT is even with cab but it limits the amount of room for taller items. I suppose it depends on what a particular customer is looking for.

One big question I hear is "can I fold my tri or bi-fold tonneau under it?"

@jlee would you need to modify yours for those tonneau owners? Or can they effectively bi-fold under your rack?

We don't offer our racks at cab height this rack you in the picture was the very first part I ever made and was the only one built like that.

The rtt will still be over the cab about 2"
    20170511_153422.jpg

Our racks wrap around the bed rails so no you can't use a bi-fold cover with them.

@jlee oh yeah. I seen this and thought it was awesome!! What are those mounts that you used to hug the the tubes for the RTT? I ended up using some muffler clamps.
all accessories would still mount in the same general area? And is it now limited to what can be mounted bc of the lower profile.

Those are just the brackets that come with the Tepui we bent them to fit around the tubing.

And our latest option who wants to mount a 8 foot awning on a Crewmax! Removable over the cab awning mounts that can support the massive 8 foot ARB awning.

I don't see an option for the double cab listed on your site, can I assume you don't make them?

Just out of curiosity what is the difference between mounting the rack to a double cab vs crewmax?

I think your a little far for that.

The double cab bed is longer.

Haha. Thanks. What I meant was is there something that won't let you mount it on a double cab or will it mount up just fine but be shorter than full bed length? If it can mount up some people might not care that it's only 5.5' long not 6.5'.

I'm sure it would mount up the tip plate flows with the body line of the Crewmax so it could look a little off as well.
