What are the build/specs differences between the Squadron Pro and Squadron Sport lineup? The Pro's for almost double the price has me wondering that besides the brightness differences, what else comes into play? I will be using the combos for some night time mountain driving in Northern New England without oncoming traffic and as additional working lights if needed.

Trying to install my Squadron Sports with the fog pocket kit... I'm getting a lite frustrated. I've now bought 3 sets of M6x1 bolts trying to get ones that will fit, my mistake getting so excited with a lip earlier. Now that I finally have the right ones and have the brackets on, they don't seem to fit the fog pocket bezel. There's not supposed to be this much of a gap, right?? This is passenger side, By the way, haven't even gotten to driver side yet. 7216BFCA-A504-4F6E-8A47-93C981C0995B.jpg555CE508-6283-4504-A88F-6B247FBE2E25.jpg

That's how mine look. Pretty sure @Baja Designs said that was normal at some point.

Thought I had read where they recently redesigned the angled bezel to reduce the gap and provide a better fit. Just didn't look like some of the recent install pics I've seen that seemed to fit really well. Trying to figure out if I've done something wrong here.

It can be controlled by how far the ears on the light bracket stuck into the factory plastic bracket. You can move them side to side a little bit. I just tried to center mine. But still a small gap around the edges.

Same here, centering mine helped, but I was surprised by how much gap was still there. The light output more than makes up for it though :)

I just ordered a pair of the squadron sports driving/combo with security bolts and amber lens covers. From everything I could glean from here and the web, sounds like a great value for what I’ll be using them for. Will be mounting them to a bull bar. A few bucks more with the Bdforums discount code than Amazon but don’t have to pay sales tax so it’s a literal wash overall. Looking forward to mounting these!

Had to wait until everyone went to bed around here to get out and finish installing my squadron sport fogs. Everything fell into place nicely and I love how they look. I think I was letting lack of sleep get the better of me earlier.

I bought this kit and it came with a 1 metal toggle switch, 1 black plastic toggle switch, 1 black circular rocker switch, and a splitter that only gives about 10" each side.. the description says it comes with a momentary switch?

Here is a quick spec comparison:

    Squadron Sport - $119.95
    Lumens - 3150
    Wattage - 26w

    Squadron Pro - $219.95
    Lumens - 4900
    Wattage - 40w

A big difference that isn't very noticeable is the Pro has a hard anodized finish under the powder coat. This adds extra corrosion resistance and will help prevent the aluminum housing from corroding. The added protection is great for areas with lots of moisture as well as locations that salt or mag chloride the roads.

Both the Squadron Sport and Squadron Pro are great lights! Since you don't plan on using these with oncoming traffic, I'd spend a little bit more $$$ on the Pros for the additional light and corrosion resistance in the NE.

Some gap is still normal. The Squadron Angled Bezel significantly reduced the gap compared to the Squadron-R bezel. This fits a variety of other vehicles and on some the gap is a tiny bit larger than others. It's mostly visible at certain angles.

Could you take a head-on pic?

Edit: Glad you got them in! Looking good :)

    UPDATE

We are still aiming for a release in the first quarter of 2019. Our ETA at this time is towards the end of February or March.

The goal is to start pre-orders at the end of this month or in February. I'll post details as we get closer to starting pre-orders.

    Thanks, Everyone!

    Thanks for the update.
The real question for many of us is - will these just be a new lens change for those who already own the Squadron, or will it require us to purchase an entire new set of lights?
    Anticipation builds.....

It won't be as simple as just a lens change. The internals will be different. As with most of our lights, we will be offering upgrade options where customers can send in their lights and have them upgraded by our production team. We'll charge a fee but it'll be easier than selling your current lights and buying new ones :)

I guess that means I'll have my Sports on about a month before taking them off. :frusty: Wish that statement could have been made a week ago when asked.
'Preciate the info though. Looking forward to the SAE lights.

I planned on going with SAEs when available, but after having my Sports for a few weeks, I think I'm going to stick with them. I absolutely love having that extra light when nobody is around, and I don't mind having to turn them off with oncoming traffic.

@Baja Designs on my switch pros, I'm unable to run 2 xl80s on any switch that's rated at 20amp.. they only pull 5.5 a piece. Anyone else had an issue with this?
