After a 7k mile road trip out west, the truck delivered and I had absolutely zero issues.

the only thing I yearned for was my old suspension. I really enjoyed my icon kit and while I always felt like it was overkill (which it is), that ride and adjustability was tough to beat.

the old man emu kit held up great during the entire trip and I had zero issues with it, but there were some trails I felt the budget friendly kit under my bones.

After contemplation, and a talk with corporate (the lady), I pulled the trigger on some Accutune Fox 2.5 RR’s front and rear.

a buddy and I installed over the weekend and I’ll say, it’s good to have some more cushion underneath me again.

Great build, super jealous haha! I actually am stuck deciding between the OME and Fox 2.5’s. How drastic is the change on pavement (I will probably only be going off road 1-2 times a year and the rest are gravel and paved roads). Would love your insight on the on road comfort since you have ran both!

Thanks! As for your question when comparing OME vs Fox, I think there are a few questions you need to try and be realistic about:
    1) how will you be using the truck? If you’re intentions are: a lift, daily driving with minimal off road use- then OME will be a good fit without breaking the bank
    2) is money / a budget a concern? If so, again OME checks the box. If you’re looking to burn $3,700 real quick, the Fox resi’s are a great way to do that

when comparing the two on road, their differences are very small. OME is probably tighter and sportier whereas the fox has a little more body roll but comes with adjustment for compression... You could probably tell a difference on speed bumps and pot holes but is that difference worth the $2,200 difference? That’s up to you.

I personally feel the way I use the truck (on and off road) the fox is by far superior but that’s also why it’s 3X as much as OME.

Another thing to consider is longevity and rebuilds down the road. Do you want to have your fox shocks rebuilt every 60k for a couple hundred bucks and down time away from the truck.

personally, OME, bilsteins and eibach all have great kits that can get you a 2-3” lift, great on and off road manors, all for a decent price…. And if I was driving mostly on pavement, I would have zero issues keeping my OME kit of considering one of the others (Billy, Eibach, Ironman, etc)

Not to mention the cost to have them uninstalled and reinstalled every time you rebuild. Seems like the twin-tube shocks may be able to go longer between replacements than the monotubes can go between rebuilds?

Definitely another factor. I’m fortunate enough to do the work myself with an exception of the alignment.

Great build man! My wife and I are actually looking at relocating to TN, CO or ID. Love seeing Tundras out in the real wild!
QUESTION: I see you were running the TRD BBS wheels, I have them also on 6112/5160 setup, I added Bushwacker flares (gravel protection) and of course now my wheels sit pretty far in. Did you like the SpiderTrax 1.25" spacers? Any issues or tips? I have never been a fan of spacers but I also really want to keep my TRD BBS wheels. The other option being to get some Method wheels. I am running Nitto Ridge Grappler 285/70 18's on the TRD BBS wheels.

    Thanks man!

I did like the spidertrax spacers and never had any issue's with them. My two bits of advice would be to: 1) buy a reputable brand of spacers. spidertrax or bora. 2) buy a torque wrench. Gotta keep your eyes on them and I would just te torque every tire rotation.

they gave me the stance I was looking forward and wouldnt hesitate to run them if i were you.

Thanks man. Appreciate hearing real life feedback, especially since you did actually off-road with them as well.
Gonna order the SpiderTrax 1.25" set. Made in the USA!
    Torque wrench ready.

Out of curiosity did you notice a power loss going to 35s and what’s current mpg? I can fit 35s and always ran them on my last tundra but this one gets 13.5-14 on 305/65/18. I feel like it has more pep but did pedal commander and bamuffler on this one

Didn’t notice much of a power loss but definitely took a hit on MPG. My guess is I get 10-12 now.

Shout out to @STravis and SOB Fabrication. Travis has a killer product for our trucks and would highly recommend to anyone.

welds, craftsmanship and communication were all top notch!

installed his high clearance rear bumper this morning. Pretty easy install but cutting the bedsides was a bit if a challenge for me personally.

stoked on how things turned out and let me know if you have any questions!
