Women are always cold. My wife will have 4 blankets on her while I only use a sheet and have a floor fan blowing on me.

how old/big is your house and how old is the AC unit? $310 is spendy, my highest in July will be $250-280.

2700 sq ft, built 2003, 2 GE AC units from 2003, big one downstairs on all day now (pretty much) upstairs goes on about 7:30. Both set at 82. The killer is the 20k gallon pool with filter & cleaning pump running from 8pm to 7am.

We are on time of use, it has gone from 280-340 over the 14 years we have been here currently at 310.

I am currently on TOU as well. We have one AC unit, with 3 zones for a 1900sqft from 2014. All scheduled to run diff temps during the day vs night. 77 downstairs during the day, upstairs 80. at night, we keep upstairs bedroom at 73, and kids rooms at 75. downstairs 80. seems to work. have a hot tub, but nothing else too crazy.

do you have solar window screens? those can help.

Those units need a “total rejuvenation”
You aren’t doing yourself any favors keeping them around

We are selling within the next 2-5 years. Unless they die, I'm not touching them. The big one's compressor died 3 seconds ahead of the warranty expiring in 2013, GE paid for it.

It sucks because back in 2003 the minimum seer rating was way lower than it is now, that’s probably what’s costing so much

If we were keeping it I'd have replaced them years ago. (it was our intention to retire 3 years ago but stuff happened) The thing is they are really expensive and are working. Except for the compressor 9 years ago the only thing either has needed was a 12-dollar Capacitor, which after the first time years ago I have done myself since it's cheaper than a house call. (I bought two for each unit after the second one & still have one each)

Phoenix was temporary in 2006. I moved back from Mexico to L.A. The first job I got was in PHX. My intention was to work the job for a year or so and get another job in L.A. but I kept getting better jobs here, then my wife got a good job for the Department of Education and is now a director (why we have not retired yet)

So yeah, I'm the guy that hates it when it's over 80 and lives where it's over 90 24/7 6 months of the year :p

dang, you're almost native :) we left SF to here in 2012, moved back to LA in 2014 to deal w/ family needs, then moved back to AZ in 2016 and stayed put. We've looked at TX, and NC but don't care for the cold.

I like cold. Originally from N.Y. over 40 is not cold and you can put on more clothes. Hot there's only so much you can do.

The only places I'd dislike more are where it's humid. HATE humidity, lived in Hawaii for 18 months, if I never go back I'm ok with that.

What pool setup are you running pump. If you are using a pool timer with an old pump, spend the $1k get a variable speed pump and you will save a decent amount on that electricity bill.
We set our variable speed at small increments threw out the day are like 30 min bursts 2-3 times a day just to do a light clean but more water circulation etc, then at 7p a good 3hour cleaning for off peak hours, and another like 2 hours in the morning. Keeps it clean, and saves a good chunk of money. Especially since you can adjust the speed of the pump, so on the 3hour one I may have it at 2500, where the 30min ones a 1500, again less energy draw.

We have stupid pop up heads for the cleaning system. It cleans well but needs full 2hp to run correctly, any less & the heads don't pop up so they don't rotate.

We have replaced I'd say almost a dozen motors since 2008, at one point the filter had a variable timer motor (we have old style "clock" timers on each circuit) It did not keep the pool free of algea and died very quickly (and was a fortune, like 1200 bucks)

Both systems run off peak all year.

How many heads do you have? Our pool has 24. We have 2 separate systems, we had a pool guy years ago that said they could be combined & messed everything up so we had to go back (that was not cheap)

We have had 1,1.5,2 & 2.5 on the pop ups only the 2 & up gets all of the heads up (on their cycle 6 at a time) the filter currently has a 1.5 and it has been fine.

Our pool is only around 5K gallons. 10'ish heads. Just replaced the pump and the ball thingy that controls the heads. 2-3 heads pop up at a time. It's been a trying time for our pool!

I hear you! We have replaced three modules, two covers, a dozen+ heads, motors, lights & now the pebble coating on the side of the pool is deteriorating, NO ONE wants to fix it, they all want to r&r it at a 7-12k price tag (not happening)

Gotta say, I hate that hole in the ground I flush money down.

We had P tech on the outer edge also. Had it shipped out and replaced with pre made tile coping a few years ago. P tech in the direct sun with no water over it is, so I'm told, not good.

One of the other big plumbing cummpanies…… came to my moms house and without even sending a camera down her sewer, the OWNER told her she had cast iron sewer mites…….. these little buggers live in the sewer/pipes and slowly eat the pipe away; super common for the area……. Total repipe would be the only solution

Obligate carnivore. Because that is the natural and most healthy human diet.

I typically don't eat "breakfast" per-se. I eat when I am hungry and do not eat when I'm not. So I usually eat once every day or two or three. And that might be in the morning, at night, or anywhere in between.

That being said, ribeye steak and eggs sunny-side-up is my favorite "breakfast" meal. Especially if the steak is leftover tomahawk.

Figured I'd post here before snapping pics and posting in the sale threads.

I've got a BNIB bullydog gt tuner. I purchased on a whim and didn't realize my wife's challenger won't work with it. I lost it in the move and recently found it in my storage unit.

I'll sell to anyone locally for 400, I'll even pay for shipping up north. Let me know if anyone is interested.
