Anybody interested in doing a trail run in the Table Mesa/Bloody Basin area in the near future? I was going to do this loop (orange line) solo this weekend but I was reading that sections of Table mesa have gotten pretty rocky and washed out since last monsoon season and thought it might be smart to go with more than 1 person. Plan was to start at the north end and camp somewhere in the middle off Bloody Basin Rd. That's the only section I'm familiar with. Another option would be to take it all the way south to Cave Creek (purple line) instead of turning west on Table Mesa to I-17. Was thinking the weekend of Feb 19th.

If you have any feedback on that route or a better idea, I'm all ears.

Anyone know a shop down in Tucson that can help me with a BMC, I'll need it for some new tires and I don't own a welder. Thanks.

Anytime. You are more than welcome to, although I consider myself a decent welder, I don't want the responsibility of welding somebody else's truck frame. Therefore I shall supervise while consuming beers and giving whomever does do the welding shit.

Just let me know a bit in advance cause I still need to get my bottle filled up as I'm sure you don't want to use crappy flux-core on this job.

I can offer roughly the same deal, but in Chandler, and with @BiggHertz doing the welding.

Well, @TucsonTundra1794 lives here and already knows where I live, and since @FrenchToasty suggested it, my house would probably work. Oh, and that means that Toasty gets the welding job.

But if we do, You and all the other Center of the Universe (Phoenix area) guys should road trip it down for a beer/garage/BBQ day.

Nice I was going to ask if you had gas or FC. I can bring over a bottle if that makes it easier, maybe I’ll leave the bottle too……

I have referenced this quote consistently ever since seeing that movie (yes, in the theater when it came out), and I’d guess that maybe 5% of the people I say it to have ever gotten the reference.

    Kudos

A few of us were originally talking about another run by Florence tomorrow, but I think we're actually going to do it next Saturday, 2/12 now. This one will go from Florence-Kelvin Hwy up to the Gila River, then we'll see if we're up for a river crossing to go north past the Coke Ovens and then back through Box Canyon. If the river crossing doesn't work, we can go east along the river and there are some random trails to check out, but will most likely be pinstripey. Rear diff breather relocation is highly recommended if we do cross the river.

I'm planning on bringing a portable grill and some burgers and hotdogs. We'll set up by the first river stop on the west side of the Buttes and eat/hang out for a bit. Kid friendly event. Plan to be at the staging area at 10:30 and we'll head out around 11, stop for lunch around noon.

@itsmerh85 I saw you post about your Westcott sliders on another thread - @BiggHertz was thinking about them. Do you have any more pics or reviews on them? Have you had a chance to christen them on any rocks yet?

I've only had them a couple weeks but no complaints thus far. They're very solid, the craftsmanship is outstanding, and they're definitely large enough to use as a step if you keep things on your roof, cab, or rack. Unfortunately I haven't taken them offroad yet, but I imagine it won't be too long before that happens. They are bolt on - I think 4 or 5 bolts through the bottom of the frame and another 4 or 5 through the side - Westcott installed them for me. I can take more pics for whoever wants them.
