Planning on doing GRL this Saturday morning, looking for a few more trucks to head out with. Any interest? It's out by the Boulders, was thinking meeting Boulder staging like 9am.

Decided against GRL and decided to do Bulldog instead tomorrow morning.

Was anything open? Was in the Usery area 6 or so weeks ago and everything was shutdown cause of fires. I know four peaks road(Cline Cabin Rd) is closed until at least March so I assumed everything was closed. Close everything after the fire has gone through. I love when government is in charge. My house burnt down so I installed a sprinker system over the ashes. My truck ran over the edge of the Grand Canyon so I just ordered a new stereo system.

 

As far as I know it's open, there have been groups going as of recently.

It's definitely open, went out there by the bulldog entry near the salt river this past weekend (Sunday), it was BUSY.

I unburied my Tacoma to cruise around town (it does better in these conditions than my Tundra).

 

Speaking of snow, the TV weather douches say we may even get a dusting here in Tucson.

But they are never right, hence the weather douche title.

The sidewalks and drive way are cleared again and the Tacoma is back in its spot next to the driveway, and buried once again. more snow to come overnight.

 

Hey everyone I’m getting a fox suspension and I am getting 2.0 coil overs set at 2.5” and rears 2.0 also. What I am curious of is should I upgrade to a resi in the rear? I will be towing a 5k lbs travel trailer in about 1 years time. Any input is appreciated.

 

IMHO, buy once cry once.

A 2.0 shock is small, we have big trucks. At minimum 6112/2.5 shock body.

Again, just my honest opinion.

 

Issue I’m having is nobody has 6112 in stock. I originally wanted to do the 6112/5160 set up, but nobody has them. Only thing I can find anywhere seems to be fox, kings etc.. So if it was you would you do 2 1/2 inch coil overs in the front and what shock in the rear?

2.5 all around and I enjoy the rear clickers myself. When loaded up and headed to the lake I turn my compression all the way firm, then soften them back up once trailers back in storage.

 

@Vizsla - how are these things not sold yet? What is the catch?

 

They will be when I see them lol assuming all hardware is accounted for. Haha

 

East Valley peeps, is there anyone in the Chandler area that has rock sliders on your truck and would be willing to let me (and mostly the wife) see what they look like in real life? I'm looking at these, but let me know what you've got and any pros/cons of the different brands.

Don't I owe you a ride with the ICONS? Sorry about that. I have the Demello Hybrids as posted above. Erick at State 48 will special order you a version where they cut 2 extra inches off the width so they tuck in a little nicer.

 

I don't think that was me, but I'd still take you up on that haha.

Thanks for the input on the special order - I was definitely planning on going through Erick if/when I order.

 

When shopping. Id pay attention to how they secure the last bracket. Mine doesn't have a bracket for about the last foot and a half. They should have angled something in there. Wish I would have thought of that before purchase. I can't even jack up by last 2 feet near the rear, it just bends it

 

In that case, it looks like the Cali Raised ones might be the way to go.

 

actually about 2 feet from last bracket to end of rails. Can be much better.
