I hate having to go to The Center of The Universe with a passion, but whenever I was forced to go for work, I would always hit Mi Patio a few times during my trip to the basin. So good, I would sometimes bring a dinner back to the valley for my wife in an ice chest.

Yep, I work for the state so it's close to the gubment buildings I was at. They used to put us up at a Holiday Inn close to it.

Maybe we'll eat there another day. The traffic at University and Rural was a full stop for quite a long time. I flipped it around and looking elsewhere.

Some AZ pictures from a few years back.
When we were living in Camp Verde. My boy was about 7 years old here. When he saw the pictures a little bit ago, he said, “yep, I remember lots of cutting heads off rattlesnakes lol. Get a forked stick, hold it down and slice.”
I didn’t worry too much about the boys running around, the way we raised em.IMG_1286.jpg IMG_2015.jpg

Speaking of snakes, this guy was cruising thru our campsite at Catalina State Park this weekend. A Ranger was nearby and rehomed him...

Pics never do these mountains justice:

    This is a controversial topic but I have killed every rattler I’ve come across (probably in excess of 150). My reasoning is that;
They are not a threatened species
They don’t fill an indispensable niche
They can cause harm to my family and I

On the other hand, whenever I came across gopher snakes, king snakes, rat snakes or bull snakes, I would catch them and release them in the vicinity of our home. I have heard that in combat sometimes these snakes might kill rattlesnakes but I don’t give this much credibility. My thoughts are that they are competing for the same food (rats, mice, etc), and I believe that the less food around the house, the less rattlesnakes.
I’m interested in your opinion and thoughts, if you think I’m in error.

Had we been alone I certainly would've considered taking him as a souvenir. The Ranger was within earshot and another family called him over.

I think in this case there were far too many people around to handle it any other way. Lots of dogs and kids around too so it definitely needed to be dealt with one way or another.

Absolutely sounds like you did the right thing. I was not being critical at all. It’s just one of those things that I have talked about before with people and was curious about your perspective.

Who here has the newest Tundra? How would you describe the power and the comfort compared to the V8 model? Also do any of you tow with a new model? How is that experience and what's the way to your trailer?

I had a new 22 tundra. I loved the power with the twins. I also towed a 35ft trailer that weight about 9800 and it towed fine.

I had a 2017 with simple mods on it for power like intake, pedal commander, bullydog tune. My 2023 would smoke that truck, I pull so hard when taking off it feels more like a car then a huge truck. The interior is both smaller and larger at the same time. I feel like I have slightly less height inside but it feels much more wide and roomy. The radio and ac controls are much more accessible and the seats are an upgrade as well. Both trucks were 1794 so both had the leather and the new leather is just a touch softer. Handling would have to go to the 2.5 gen. The new truck with coils in the back feels loose when taking turns at speed. I'm sure a beefy sway bar could help with that but out of the box it's definitely loose. I pull a little 16' camper and in both trucks you hardly feel it back there. In the new truck the assists definitely make it easier. I miss my old truck but I'm happy with the new one as well.

I'd like to drive one someday.
    Surprised at the power comments.
What does your trailer weigh and how does it compare going up the I17 hills?

Next time I'm in Phoenix raiding Jake's fridge I'll meet up with you and you can take mine for a spin. My trailer doesn't weigh much at all, It's an old prowler, but we do load it up pretty well when we head north. I pull it through the salt river on my way to showlow and honestly, coming up those switchbacks I have to remind myself that it's back there. Both trucks handled it very well.

I think I did a boo boo but not sure? I went off roading yesterday nothing crazy down castle hot springs road everything was great got off the trail onto the freeway an 2 miles down the road my check engine light comes on and reduce engine power popped up I was doing 70mph an it slowed me down to 40mph and I couldn't go faster. I pulled over an popped the hood the truck was really running like crap (engine shaking like miss firing) everything looked fine shut it off over looked everything made sure everything plugged in still turned the truck back on 2mins later and no code and back to normal like nothing happened. Should I be concerned from what I have researched so far ppl are saying bad turbo or bov will codes stay saved in the system if I take it to a dealer they can pin point what happened? I only run 91oct also seen the ppl that had this problem they run 87oct? I have 62k on the truck an never had an issue besides having to replace the battery for the truck and my Key fob

Take it to autozone and have them read the stored code. Also if you've ever gone to the dealer for service they got an alert of the code as well and will be reaching out probably tomorrow to ask you to bring it in. I've had p00cf come up before which has to do with barometric pressure. It caused the truck to go into limp mode. Turned truck off and next morning it was gone.
