I'm surprised by this. Is the info in this thread not accurate?

It says the biggest you can go without a lift is 275/70.

What kind of MPG are you getting?

9-12 City and or towing (it makes little difference their both the same).

Last road trip I did 16-17 mpg averaging anywhere from 55-75 mph.

Been on this size for years. Michelins 285/75/r16 Defenders now (prior 2 tires were M/S then M/S2’s). Never used any other brand at this size so cannot attest.

Very slight rub under the inside frame under front door hinge. Never a problem anywhere else. My new alignment and front end work lessened the rub which is only on tight full lock turns. The tire nubs edge.

You're getting better MPG than me and I'm using the factory tire size. Impressive.

    Really?

Everything is OEM on my engine. Also, I cleaned everything up (MAF Sensor, Throttle Body, tightened throttle cable, new valve cover gaskets PCV VALVE). I ran some fuel cleaner (STP gold bottle about 6 months ago). New ignition coils and plugs.

Only thing I would like to do is buy some used fuel injectors and send them off for cleaning and testing and then swap them in place of the old ones. Takes about 2 weeks time. The injectors play a good role in MPG. Not sure ow much improvement I’d see based on everyone elses truck being the same MPG except for @Darkness. His 20mpg is from the 4.56 gearing (2wd lighter by 300lbs).

Yeah I've got new plugs, cleaned MAF sensor, throttle body, new air filter and fuel filter. None of that helped. I get 14.8MPG on nearly every single tank. Occasionally I'll get 15.5MPG. My commute is 65/35% highway vs city. My truck as 155K miles. I had Blackstone labs check my oil and they said the engine looked perfect.

Just curious, why would you want used fuel injectors? Who would clean them?

Sweet on the tune up stuff you did. I couldn’t remember, but you did all the right things. I’d say your MPG is pretty spot on with most. Thats real good at 15 mpg (if city).

Keep in mind the gas is now ‘winter blend’ and is worse on MPG. Also, your tires play a factor in MPG (sometimes 1-2mpg).

Used injectors because new OEM ones are through the roof $. Used because cheap and rarely fail due to age and they’d be tested prior to install. Where? Forget the labs name, but saw it on youtubes where they do a before and after testing of your injectors with write up of improvements made.

Vids show visual improvements on the cleaning done via micro-vibe sonic cleaning. I’m sure you could buy the sonic machine $ and DIY, but no data on the improvement. There are also vids on DIY brake cleaner spray can and straw rigs to squirt through your injectors after they are removed from engine.

I should clarify that I've never tested just city MPG. I just do the math once I fill up at the pump. I would imagine that I'm getting around the same city MPG as you and the others. That's interesting about the fuel injectors. I'll have to look into that.

Love your user name BTW. I love that show.
