If you look at the tires when you turn, you'll notice an increase in outside vertical lean, if your caster is less than OEM specs, it would bring the tires in closer in a turn, increasing chance of rub.

Definitely. The bumper caps, liner, and a buncha plastic. I know it's not that. I even took the heat gun and pushed more back after i got the lift and self tapped some of it in a little tighter. Those plastic pieces of shit that toyota puts in place rather than actual screws were all loose and i needed to fix that issue

I'm thinking maybe Mark should "mark" off all possible places where rubbing could take place and see what shows up (Kind of like what you did with Amado's Tundra issue.............Worth a try.)

Did this start all of a sudden recently or right after your wheeling trip?

after the original install i was rubbing but not bad. Just slightly

    got the alignment

    went wheeling

    rubbing was worse than before

It's only in reverse on hard lock or when i have some speed and hit the brakes. If i'm not on hard lock i don't have any rubbing at all. OR, when i'm going slow in reverse i don't notice it. It's almost like i just need a little trim and wont hear it ever again. If i do any wheeling more intense that what i did in moab i need to be in somebody else's vehicle. that was more than my truck was ready for, and me included. My heart is still racing wondering what was around the corner. Not that it was super hard, just that it's only a few months old and it was more of a trail than i wanted her on.

Let me do a little more investigatory searching before you spend your money on a long drive, but if you're just looking for a reason to come up, i'm here. I might have the issue resolved by the time you get here but we can go for a nice ride when you get here.

Back up your truck in full lock and stop and get out. Look where the tire is closest to the front plastic. See if there's any rub marks right around there.

full lock doesn't stay. IT pops back a tad, which doesn't give me a good reference. I've tried and can't detect anything in the wheel well. I'm gonna try tomorrow and look at the skids

I'm also thinking of going to a big parking lot and put a brick on the pedal and tie off the wheel in reverse. I can run around with a GoPro and film whats happening so maybe you guys can trouble shoot over the thread.

Is this worthy of a tundra trouble shooting DIY?

Maybe use one of these to "mark" off all possible areas of potential rubbing and see if anything rubs off. Can't hurt.

And yes it pops back a tad but you can still see where it's close and check for rubbing. Chalk is also a good idea.
