Here is the Vleds license plate light. Register an account and use code New15 and you will get 15% off of your order or wait a few more days and they should have a BF sale which is either 15 or 20%....I can't remember which one that it is.

Yes......designed that way by Rigid. They are the SR-M Pro with diffused lenses. Expensive but awesome. I think I got them from AutoAnything.

if you want backup lights tied to reverse with a switch.. just wire to the reverse signal and a switch to interrupt the signal..

Yep...I believe that is how the Rigid harness is set up. I remember tapping the reverse at the taillight.

I want to be able to turn on the lights even if I'm not in reverse and also turn on when in reverse.

Oh got it like a 3 way switch, I wanted to use like a normal on/off switch as I would use the cargo button or a aux gang panel.

I used the same lights as @Lil Steve; they come with a template. Yes it's scary cutting into the bumper, and you need to be very careful when cutting around the backup sensor wiring, but worth it. They throw out a ton of light, and they can be tapped into your reverse light circuit without tripping the fuse.

the on/auto/off senario would be a challenge indeed best *easiest* bet is put *whatever you* consider the best and brightest bulb in your rear assy and then mount *whatever you* consider the best cube aftermarket light *wherever you* consider the best location and tie it into your cargo light for a quick push when needed

there are other ways but may be out of your comfort zone

the originator of thie hir mod is the crashnburns taco guy that a memeBer sojorner?? here posted up about rev bulbs. i cant find his threqd but you might search it here he references alot to crashesnburns link you posted.

i’m installing some 9005 to 9011hir upgrade bulbs in some hi beams in a car soon based on some reading of a little tab removal. hir burns hotter on the wire using the same wattage due to reflecting coating without bad effects. read amazom reviews of the philips bulbs for headlights.

Nilight lights from Amazon and a split harness.
Waterjet some rubber gaskets for the pod lights. I used blue tape to set level and easy to write on when cutting the bumper pockets.
Covered the entire harness with corrugated sleeve for a factory clean look.
Ps, i drag hitch enough on mild trails, ide never run em hanging under the bumper imo, unless ya never go offroad

I wouldn't want to use that if you're worried about departure angles or offroad at all (which obviously not everyone is/ does). Super easy to drag the hitch offroad on a first gen, ask me how I know.

someone should try, I was thinking the same. Then I realized the rear of the housing may hit the bumper and point the light at the ground.

It would just take a maybe 4 inch extender between the light mounting stud back to the clamp hole. Overall not worth it IMO. I want to cut holes in shit.

I'm not gonna say what this looks like because it'll be obvious to some, if not many.

But I will say, I'm pretty sure I know the inspiration....

If you don't recognize what this is or what it looks like installed, let's just say ... it's not an earring, but it does install in a similar spot to a receiver on the back of our trucks. And I really can't unsee this every time I look at the pic a couple posts up. Because it's hilariously identical.

Not sure on lumen count. Based on what I've seen, it tends to make a lot of lights go on for some people, but I'm sure I'd be seeing stars and lightning bolts if someone tried to install on mine!
