Attached diagram will show you how to have them on a switch and come on with vehicle in reverse using a SPDT Bosch style relay.

If you have no need for the switch (see the second diagram), just purchase a SPST Bosch style relay and it won't have a pin 87A, so the wires going to it and the switch won't be there.

I did not either. I swapped the reverse light bulbs in tailights to LEDs. I also have backup leds on boat trailer along with surge brakes that are wired to reverse circuit. Never had an over load. I put leds in cargo light and it gives me all the light I need to hook up trailer. If I need more I can just set brake, turn key to on and put in reverse. No need for switch and all the extra wires.

No problems yet, lights are holding up great, no water, or bulbs out. I've been so happy with them that I put a set on my work truck and I've got a set I'm adding to my 20' flat bed trailer, so it'll finally have some reverse lights.

I never specifically mentioned it, but to mount them to the hitch, I drilled and tapped the hole and just bolted the inner mount to the hitch. The outer mounting bracket is not one that came with the light, it is just a piece of either 3/4" or 1" aluminum flat bar that I bent a right angle in, mounted it to the bumper, to see where the hole needed to be for the light, removed it, drilled the hole and cut it to length.

Is there an option to mount some lights around license plate?
I thought the bumper ends are metalic, but mid section is plastic.

sorry one more detail... I used the stock rear bumper, took it off, cut the holes for the lights, Line-Xed the bumper then reinstalled.

Has anybody just taped into the 7 pin trailer plug? There is a reverse light circuit to that plug correct?
