Since I’ve owned my truck the parking brake would turn on automatically every time I parked and turned off the vehicle. Parking brake would then turn off every time I started the vehicle. Now, the parking brake no longer does this. I have tried the “hold” function button but that’s not the same functionality as I had previously. Is there a setting I’m missing (that I turned off somehow) to restore the auto on/off parking brake functionality? Thank you for your help

Put your foot on the brake and pull the parking brake button out for 3 seconds.

Thanks @DRP! I can do this, but previously I didn’t have to pull the parking brake button out. The brake would engage automatically after I put the Tundra in park while braking. I liked that functionality and am trying to find out how to turn it back on.

If you hold it out for 3 seconds in will reenable the auto function. You'll know its reenabled when the message that its been reenabled pops up on your dash. Trust me and @olafman1 on this.:) (did I set the record for most times the word reenable has been used in a post?)

Weird...now that you mention it, I have not heard mine set on my past couple drives either. Makes that special noise you know. I was next to a new sequoia parking and got to hear it make the same noise so I knew mine was normal.

edit.....I also just noticed when I unlock the truck with the fob my marker/parking lights flash on after the fact and stay lit for about 5 seconds. I swear it never did that prior to a few days ago.

Dang. I thought it would have been much harder to break that record. Did you use A I to do it?

Oem tonneau, side steps, spray in liner. Trd skidplate.
Can this be used when it is time to replace rear brake pads or would you still need to retract the EPB fully?

Nope, I used my superior typing skills. I'm just really good like that.

Just reading this now- thank you @olafman1 and @DRP!!! Thought I was crazy, absolutely couldn’t find the way to turn this on again. Tried HOLD for a week and that’s not it at all. Thx to your posts learned the feature is called “EPB Shift Interlock Function Activation” WTF lol ;)
Going to try it right now. Thank you both!!
PS worked like a charm! Much appreciated so pleased!

I turned mine off when I got it. I mostly park on flat ground and I’m afraid using every time will wear that little motor out.
