Added some mirrors. Easy install, and a much needed item for this particular toy.

20200502_202812.jpg Figured I'd post a picture of my Yamaha and my brothers Honda. We had just left Windrock in Tennessee. Great place to go riding. Hope to be heading back down in July.

Nice! What engine is in that Yamaha? Kodiak or Grizzly? I have a buddy with a 700 Kodiak, and that thing is an absolute monster. Loved it when we swapped out on the trails last time we were out.

It's a Grizzly 350. It's actually the first one I've ever had and i didn't want to go too big. But i did hit 42 mph on it.

Sweet. I'm not at all surprised you can run 40+ on that thing. Yamahas are badass. Only reason my buddy went for the 700 cuz he's a giant, and he plans to use it to haul out elk and such.

Holy crap. I am learning so much about SxS just from poking around a bit. Shock Therapy does suspension/shocks for all of them and they have youtube vids about lots of different aspects of these machines. I've learned so much stuff about the way the suspension designs and how the geometry of the trailing arms affects things, or how the Kawasaki uses toe to eliminate track scrub, and what track scrub even is..... :goingcrazy::goingcrazy::goingcrazy: So glad that I am ok with old man adrenaline and I don't have to mod the crap out of my Quadzilla to have fun with it, because there is an absolutely insane amount of crap you can do to an ATV/UTV. None of it is cheap, either.

I snapped this from a video from the shock company I mentioned before. So tempting to print it out and hang it in the accounting department at work.

Thank you for suggesting the ATV insurance. I pray I never need it, but I maxed out my policy on it. I'd rather "waste" money on the insurance than be left wishing I had gone up a tier on the coverage. I honestly didn't even know you could get ATV insurance.

I believe it’s almost mandatory these days with the cost of ATVs and SxS machines.

Truth. A buddy at work gave me some solid perspective on insurance and full coverage almost 10 years ago. I was of the mind that once it was paid off I'd go liability because I'd save money, but he made me think by asking "Can you easily afford to replace the vehicle tomorrow if it gets totalled?" If you can answer yes, then you can run liability, otherwise full coverage is a better bet. I've been paying more for insurance ever since!

Not just the vehicle....if you hit someone or god forbid injure your passengers.
Crashed ours jan 2017, wife broke her back in 4 places, 9hrs in ICU $58k. Our insurance at the time covered 80% and our sxs insurance covered 0% medical. After learning that expensive mistake I also maxed out everything. $71/ month is easier to swallow than that experience again.

I do at least have the peace of mind that if it's a single vehicle accident, I will be the only one hurt. Perk to the antisocial SxS.

We added an ATV to our collection not long ago. 4 more dirt bikes in the garage.

Go out 1 day a week this summer when it isn't so bloody hot. Looking forward to getting back to Idaho/Montana soon.

That looks like a hoot! :bikewhoops: I've been to a few places to ride, and very little of it is like that. Mostly rocky stuff that keeps the speeds lower. The RS1 will soak it up fine, but I go with a buddy that is on a Yamaha Kodiak, so he can't blast through the rough stuff as quickly. That and the width restricted trails are almost making me wish I'd gone with an Ace 570 instead of the RS1.

On that note, has anyone every used an Ace 570? Know anyone that runs one? I'm toying with the idea of getting out of the RS1 while it's still new enough to not completely soak me, and going for the smaller quad. It's very tentative, because I do enjoy the hell out of the RS1. Maybe both? But that's a lot of toy for one guy. I'm so torn. :annoyed:

My brother has a 4 seater RZR turbo and he got a street legal kit that had DRLs that went along side the grille and doubled as turn signals. They just replaced some colored body trim, so I don't think there was any drilling required. I think PLC721 has them on his RZR pictured in post #112.

Does anyone know of a similar kit for an RS1? If not, has anyone used any of the universal kits with good results? I know there are kits to make a RZR street legal (for states that allow it) but I've not be able to find an equivalent kind of set up for the RS1. I see several generic/universal kits, but I am reluctant to go drilling holes in my toy for the signals and such.

My “fangs” light up being the dynamix model, the velocity has color matched trim pieces. I think the aftermarket ones are good for the blinkers too if you wore them that way

Keeping track of this project in here so I hope yall don't mind!

I had zero intention of doing a switch pros, but then I ordered my aftermarket cage and made room for A-Pillar lights, 40" bar, RTL and whips and soon realized I was running out of blanks, not to mention wires running everywhere.

So I'll be working on this my next "weekends" off.

I’m kinda sad about it, but my trusty ‘00 Honda Rancher 350 ES is going up for sale. 13,000 km and it runs like new, new tires last year, needs nothing, and all set up how I wanted with heated grips and all the other good stuff.

But when you find a helluva deal on a pair of ‘16 Honda Rancher 420’s with EPS / IRS / EFI / DCT transmission with auto or ESP mode, that aren’t even broken in yet, well, a guy has to do what a guy has to do. :D

My wife recently expressed a bit of interest in starting to ride, and one of these is the perfect thing to learn on. The other, well, it’s an OK upgrade for me too.;)
