How is that Kayo holding up? Just got a 70 for my boy for Christmas and so far the thing has run like a top. My boy's loving it. I'm in the process of creating a homemade rack because he needs somewhere to put his (Nerf) guns while he's in the yard "hunting" haha!

Edit: also important to have this ATV in case I need to run to store for milk because according to recent threads the tundra can't handle the snow

Just curious what threads are they saying the truck can't handle snow? Curious because I always get called out to work in the worst conditions and my truck kills it. Just yesterday I got called into work, about 50 miles with 5" of snow and bunch of ice under and top of it. My truck got there and back with no problem. 1 little slide which ain't the trucks fault, obviously I was driving a touch too fast for the condition. That just told me to slow it down a bit.

I got the impression you were being sarcastic but are people really saying the truck can't handle snow?

TRD Air Filters, Front door windows tinted to match the rears. Wheel locks, Talons Garage cat shield, Tyger Automotive soft tonneau cover, WeatherTech floor mats with Tuff Skinz Custom Emblem kit, Toyota OEM Emblem Black Out kit. AVS vent covers on all four doors, Red Tundra letters on front bumper & TRD highlighted in Red on front grille. Tailgate Tundra Letters in Black.
I was going to get the 70 cc one but the boys are 7 & 11 so we went with the 125cc it’s awesome! The Kayo dealer told me the engine is a copy of the Honda engine so far so good! I added some amber and clear flashing lights on the bumper and rear fenders. I plow and the boys disperse the salt, lol

Well, I'll be doing a bumper and winch on the RZR this spring/summer along with some quick click harnesses and possibly 5 wheels and tires.

I know it's a longshot, but does anyone in here have any experience with the winches from Polaris? They have a lighter duty one that is pretty straightforward and then a slightly heavier duty one with a fast retract and autostop on it, and I have no info on them beyond brochure stuff. Are they any good? Is the fast winding one worth the extra money?

On tires, I am leaning toward the Tusk Terrabites (possibly the aramids that are 10 ply rated) and wanted to know if there are any major pros/cons or alternatives in the price range. Mostly drive trails that are everything from hard to soft-sh with roots, rocks, river/creek crossings, and a little bit of mud sprinkled in, and the roads to get to the trails. I am not a big rock crawler, not a mudder (hate cleaning it off the machine), and not a dune runner, so I kinda want an all rounder type of tire.

Wheels - I'd like to keep close to the factory offset so I don't eff up my width, but I want a square set up for rotation options and easy spare use. Hard to find wheels that aren't deep dished crap on the offsets, and I hate the look and the issues it can cause on machines like this. Would prefer bead grip over bead lock, but for the right weight/price/offset I would deal with bead locks. Any downsides or issues to just picking up 3 more the same size as the stock rears, replacing the fronts with two, and packing the third as a universal spare?

Finished up my custom work rack for when the boy is "hunting" the yard for deer, squirrel, birds, etc... Couple T brackets, 6x6, bungees, and a bagel tray. He's been hounding me for a place to put his Nerf guns on his atv. He'll be dangerous this spring. PXL_20220119_023630587.jpg

Gas. I'm glad I went this route too. Several people reviewed that it was not good with the cold, but I've had zero issues with getting it started and keeping it running (for a relatively inexpensive machine versus your big name companies). I just run ethanol free gas with a little sta-bil. It hauls for a 6 year old (and I only have limiter set on about half the max speed).

Wife decided to shake things up and be the impulsive one and went from looking last week to having me bring this home today.

Plan is to use it at the lake house to run around the trailer park and play around the shore and in the desert. First time owners so we don’t really know what we’re doing…

Got the roof installed tonight. Eyeing a cargo rack from Dirt Fabrication - just what I needed - another vehicle to mod.

    Agreed! Thanks!
Thank you. Certainly will do. Calls for a valve adjustment first service so I’ll be all over it. We saw one that was 4 years old and had 17k miles on it when we were looking and it still seemed in great shape!

My wall of text post previously didn't really get a response, so I'll be less wordy. :D

Anyone have experience with the Polaris brand winches? Good, bad, ugly?

I have the factory HD4500 on my General and it’s pretty sweet. Zero problems to report. Saved my bacon a few times and someone else’s. Also works great for yanking bushes around the house.

Good info. How long have you had it? Wire or synthetic rope? Is it the one with the fast retract and auto stop? If so, how well does that work for you?

Also, do you have any more pics of that sexy General? :worthless:

I’ve had it since it was new, the Generals come standard with the winch fitted. It has the wire cable, although I’ve been considering switching to rope. Only thing I’ve added is the rubber stop. I’m not aware of any auto stop or fast retract feature…I do have the wireless remote though.

By the way, my absolute hands down favorite accessory I’ve ever put on this machine is…
    C6D63506-C3E2-4439-8B9B-B2065DAD2D46.jpg
The permanent Montana plate. Now I take it everywhere! I just need to get some legit DOT approved tires…so I’m 100% legal on the roads. I get SO much more use out of this machine now and can justify what I spent on it easier. No more trailering it for an hour one way to go have some fun, now we just load up and leave from the driveway…straight into the mountains.

Sorry Adam, crickets here since no experience. Hopefully they don't build their winches the same way they build their atvs/sxs's. I'd expect them to fail on first use when needed.
Sorry couldn't help myself, I took the bait on a little friendly machine brand shit talking banter.
Hope a is well buddy and only wish you good fortune regardless of brand.

That's awesome, I've been a member of the fb site and been following the Montana plate route for making street legal. Jersey can be tough on freedom so I haven't pulled the trigger yet. I've been hoping someone takes their guilty verdict to the highest courts possible to set the standard on law regarding this issue. As much as I'd like to be a pioneer I just don't have the time or deep pockets to be that guy right now. I'm guessing yours is owned by your business too?

No apologies needed! I think i'd actually go with a spiffy Warn that is compact and cheaper than the Poo-laris one at this point. My RZR may well burst into flames, but it's gonna do it 6 trails ahead of the Canned Hams! :p

Mine is indeed owned by my “business” in Montana. It’s super easy to do, just takes $. I think it was just under $1000 to setup the LLC and then you just pay for the processing of the paperwork and plate fees. After that, it’s $156 a year for the registered agent to maintain your LLC on your behalf. There’s a TON of other benefits that I’m not sure I should discuss on an open forum…maybe a better conversation for DM’s. Feel free…I will say, my 18’ Aluma trailer is also permanently plated in Montana (never to be paid for again) and I’m on the verge of doing it with my personal vehicles too. I don’t think they’ll do permanent, but their fees are much much more reasonable up there in Helena, MT. If anyone has any questions about this process, don’t hesitate to hit me up. I can definitely help out as much I can and point you in the right direction.

I saw a former co-worker install a Polaris winch kit on his Sportsman 570, and was impressed how well planned out the kit was. Battery cables the perfect length, handlebar switch was plug’n’play prewired…

…just too easy to install. Probably 1/2 hour tops.

Compared to the hours I spent figuring out where the mount the contactor, how to best route the cables, mount the handlebar switch, and all the rest when I installed the Warn VRX on my Honda, it was awesome. I know, apples to oranges for your machine…

I’d almost swear it had Superwinch and Polaris decals, but it’s been a couple years, and even is it was, are they still?? I dunno.

I’d personally steer clear of that fast retract / auto stop stuff. Just more to go wrong, and if you’re using a winch, chances are there’s enough going wrong already. Just my KISS mentality, and I’m getting old enough to hate new-fangled gizmos.

Yeah sounds like the exact route I've been following. I'm pretty sure I know the uncle Sam benefit upfront on purchase and not having to pay your state dmv each year to re-register multiple vehicles I think was another one. If there's anymore benefits I might not be aware of then yeah definitely, I'm all ears. I've been on the fence since I just bought my as Adam states Canned ham commander. If I knew I was gonna have to only pay the 1k for llc and all, the 156 yearly, and probably another grand or two making it street legal(tires, turn kit, ect) I would do it. That plus since I originally financed it in my name I'd have to pay it off and put under biz. Even with all that, if that was it, I'd do it now. The problem for my communist state is even after all that, I think I'd be spending time in courts fighting tickets. I know others have near me. To go through all that and still get hit with tix, I don't know. If I lived in a free state, I think I would've already. I'm definitely all ears and been trying to learn as much as possible before I take the plunge.

No doubt you will end up getting tickets in Jersey and PA etc…I’m sure I will here in CO as well…and we’ll have to fight them. I’m fortunate to live in a small town at the base of the mountains. So my chances are limited compared to these guys cruising the big city streets, hitting the Dairy Queen drive thru and shit like that. Anyhow, if you do take the plunge, check out LightStream for a personal loan. This is how I paid mine off and got my hands on the title. They don’t hold the title since it’s a personal loan then you setup the LLC and sell it to the business for $1. After I got all that squared away, I paid that loan off immediately though because it was like 7% (because it was a personal loan) instead of the 0% 60 months I had from Polaris. Good luck man! Hit me up with any questions!
