I'm slapping on some Fuel Shoks and they can't use the ET lugs I used on my KMC wheels. Anyone know what sort of lug nuts I need?

I'm no expert, but...... Sounds like someone fucked up somewhere.... I've replaced shocks and struts and have never come across not being able to reinstall lugs on studs that were there before... unless they broke when I took them off, which is rare.....

I believe Fuel Shoks are a brand of rim.

Sounds like the OP didn't purchase the necessary lug nuts to use with the new rims. Ex. Can't use OEM lug nuts on SCS Ray10 rims

No, he has Fuel Shok rims (new) that take a specific type of lug nut. His old KMC rims use a lug nut that can't be used on the Fuel Shok rims.

My post was an example (thus the Ex.) of rims that had one style of lug nut (OEM) that could not be used on a different brand of rims (SCS).

So in essence, if that is correct, the OP didn't research enough thus not purchasing the correct lug nuts for his/her new Fuel Shok rims.

    Fuel Shok:
What are the correct lug nuts for my vehicle?

Your authorized Fuel retailer/installer should offer the correct lugs for your particular vehicle. Stud size and length and center cap clearance all play a factor in determining the correct lug nuts for your application. Your authorized Fuel retailer/installer is best able to inspect your vehicle, analyze your needs and recommend the correct lug nuts.

    I'm done...

If your tire shop doesn't know what size lugs to put on.....find a different tire shop

OP, what's happening? Why can they not use the ET lugs? Is the lug bore too small? Is the lug pad too shallow?

I don't think this has anything to do with the size of the lugs - it's going to have more to do with the lug bore, whether or not the existing lug nuts are conical, how much material is at the bottom of the lug bore.. etc?

I'm highly doubtful his tire shop "doesn't know what size lugnuts to use"

My first comment was before reading the entire thread, but this ^^^ hits the nail on the head. Lots more to lug nuts than size, pitch, and seat..

Didn't expect the bloodshed to ensue from a simple question lol but yes I went to another tire shop (one I usually go to but didn't this time. Lesson learned).

Anyway the manager was able to quickly find the right lug nut that accommodated the new wheels I had. I needed M14x1.50 without the extended thread. Conical.

Thanks for the useful comments guys
