Reading all 13 pages of this thread I see that many have been satisfied with 6112.
I'm quiet disappointed with stock suspension in terms of the ride quality, its bounces up and down, feel like you are on the ship going through the waves. This is like you go through a wave and the vehicle is slowly dampens it by going up and down several times. The vehicle doesn't lean much in the corners, surprisingly as with such bounce I though it would. Looks like sway bars resisting much of the body roll, but the movement up and down are terrible at the road waves. I can just imagine what would it be on the gravel country road, especially at speed...:(
Firstly I thought just to lift the vehicle a bit to level it, but now start thinking I'd want to change the ride more then just lift. Therefore question to the people who went from OEM to 6112, did the ride change, did it become stiffer (hopefully it will)? What are your thoughts? I read that some claim it to be similar to OEM.
I've checked and stock coils are 680 lbs. What is the rating on Bilstein 6112 coils? My other option would of be going OME 2612 which are 740 lbs.

I’m gonna jump in for a question as well if someone can point me in the right direction. Boss off-road I can buy these 6112’s assembled at whatever I like. That’s great. My question becomes I noticed this says it’s got a 90 day limited warranty. Anything after 90 days does that mean I’m SOL if one of these fails? That’s the only part stopping me from pulling the trigger. And it’s got a guessed ship date of 12/1 as of time posting this comment..

The ride certainly changes a bit depending on what height setting you choose. Overall it will be a bit more firm and less bouncy. I’ve always felt that any pre load style lift such as 5100 or 6112 is going to have a certain amount of “bounce” but not the same as a softer tuned factory suspension. Mostly because the added preload means it more easily moves in the direction of down travel and in my mind resists up travel because of how tightly the spring is now compressed. OME 2612 is a great setup especially around the same price. It will give you nearly 3” of lift and in my opinion rode a bit stiffer compared to the bilsteins. After having both setups I don’t think you can go too wrong with either at this price range. If you go OME I highly recommend new UCA’s such as JBA to help with alignment and improve wheel travel.
