Not even going to bother to read it. I wasnt trying to be a smartass, it has nothing to do with proficiency. Transfer Case Fill/Drain Plugs = 27ft-lb · Front Diff Fill Plug = 29 ft-lb · Front Diff Drain Plug = 48 ft-lb · Rear Diff Fill/Drain = 36 ft-lb. For those of us without calibrated arms....

@Ruggybuggy - you ever come across this with the 5.7? Changing spark plugs on the LandCruiser and found the plug in the #7 cylinder with oil coating the threads. The test seemed normal. 103k miles and no symptoms…

Did you look in the tube and see if it was dry? Are they the original plugs?

Yes, original plugs. Tubed looked clean from what I could see.

Either the tube had some oil in it or someone had that one out and put something on the threads. If it was from the combustion chamber the tip should show some evidence of oil burning.

Had my truck for two months or so now. Used my parking brake for the first time the other day and it has no stopping power to hold the truck on my barely even 3-4% grade driveway.

I am still under the factory b2b for another 1200 miles. Will the adjustment of the E brake, or potential repair, be covered under warranty? Anyone know?

Did you apply the parking brake while the truck was moving?

Nope. I was sitting in the driveway after pulling outta my garage. I stopped, put the truck in P, set the parking brake, then released the brake pedal slowly, expecting the truck to stay in its spot

Instead, the truck slowly rolled that inch or two it does when on an angle, until resting on the parking pawl. I then shifted into N and took my foot off the brakes, and she just rolled fwd

When applying the parking brake does the pedal go straight to the floor? The truck should hold on an incline and most issues are that the brake is not adjusted properly or someone has applied the brake and forgot to release it. The friction material on the parking brake shoes is very thin and is designed to just hold the vehicle. If the brake is adjusted correctly then the rear rotors will have to be removed and the parking brake assembly inspected. If the friction material is gone then it's very unlikely it would be covered under warranty.

This was my assumption, but I was hoping it would be covered

All good. I'll take a peak and adjust. Thanks!

The only way I could see it being covered is if there was a mechanical issue that caused the parking brakes to be applied.

Yeah, that makes sense. I would have no proof of any of that regardless.

Thanks again for your insight @Ruggybuggy . I am going to be doing an oil change and tire rotation in about 1500 miles, I'll adjust the parking brake then

Has any of you ever replaced the main transmission harness on a Gen 2 (2012) Tundra? I had the 4lo/check engine light/P2714 code issue while also experiencing hesitation at 2nd and 3rd gear when throttle acceleration was moderate. I replaced the transmission shaft output speed sensor, the D line pressure control (SLT) Solenoid, replaced transmission internal filter and serviced with all new Toyota WS fluid. Issue didn’t go away, but never threw a new code. The only code that I see is the permanent code P2714. It supposedly cannot be erased. Anyway, I rang out the wiring for all the valve solenoids and found the SLT solenoid wiring was grounding to the case. The new solenoid I bought at Toyota was reading a resistance of 7 ohms at the actual solenoid but at the main harness connector D63, pin 14 and pin 6 were grounded to the case. I was also reading 27 ohms between pin 14 and pin 6 SLT wiring. This reading should be no more than 10 ohms. I’ve got it down the the harness being my issue. The harness is only $60. I’m just curious how much has to come apart or is this something that should be done at the dealership.

Never done one but you're this far into it why not install it yourself?

I am either not googling correctly or not smart enough to figure out the parts numbers for the AB60F Solenoids. Is it possible for someone to get the parts code to order? In the picture maybe in the red box to the right?
    trans.jpg
main thing for me is S4 and maybe SL2

Toyota will not give you part numbers. You have to go up to parts department and pull up the diagram on there computer and cross reference. It was difficult for me as well. I am replacing SLT, S4, S3 and SR. They are not cheap either. Those 4 solenoids cost me $1,500. If you replace all of them it will cost you around $3,000. A OH transmission from Toyota costs $3,500 - $4,000. However, the transmissions are on back order and have been for over a year. The parts department in Houston showed 108 customers are waiting on back order. Toyota charges around $6000-$7000 installed.

@Ruggybuggy Good Morning, I have a 2018 Tundra Platinum FFV that is giving me the p1604 code. I looked into it because I was having starting issues. When I put my scanner on it and look at live data it is reading alcohol density in the 75-78% range. I'm thinking this is pointing me towards tsb 016619. Is there anything I should check before I reflash and replace fuel pump?

Good morning. I wish I could help you but I have very little FFV experience. I'm in Canada and there are next to no FFV Tundras here because E85 isn't available in Canada that I know of. Hopefully someone can chime in.

@Ruggybuggy Good morning. On a 2020, most of the time when I lock or unlock using the fob, my lights don't flash. The doors lock and unlock just fine. Any idea on what would cause this? Thanks.

Thanks, I do have the tsb. Unfortunately my mileage is 130k and I really don't want to go to the dealer if I'm footing the bill.

I do.....but the function would be turned on since it works when it wants to....unless there is a test that you want me to look at.

You could go to the body control module and look at the data stream to see if the lights are receiving a command when you're locking. I haven't look myself but that's where I would start.

In the Toyota App, I received a "Keyfob low" message. NO message in truck (2021 Tundra with push to Start). I went ahead and replaced batteries in both FOBs with Energizers. App still says "Keyfob low". They work just fine, no issues. Just says this in App.....

Is there something I am missing? Something so simple, so aggravating.

It's an app problem. You will get a message in the truck when the fob battery needs replacing. You don't have a problem except for the app.

Hi to Ask the Mechanic forum!
Looking for advice on maintenance & upgrades for hauling.
I just bought a 2018 Tundra Limited 5.7 with 134,000 miles. Carfax shows regular maintenance performed, Dealer said they did oil change this month & 90-pt inspection.
**What should I do asap as the new owner? The 100k servicing? New transmission fluid? Any "precautions"? It's running like a top.
** What suspension /leaf springs /Tires do you recommend for hauling a dual axle horse trailer with 2 horses (6,000 lbs approx)?
    THANKS in advance!! :)
