Thanks, recleaned the throttle body, and did the reset of the codes although the last time the "check engine" light was on was before the air pump was changed, months ago.
It is still doing it, in moderate throttle position, going up a hill, it will downshift to a lower gear and with a consistent foot on the gas, the throttle will reduce then come back several times on its own.
With all that has been done - engine - spark plugs, air pump, cleaned throttle body and mass air sensor; transmission rebuild and Toyota says it is not the engine, AAMCO says it is not the transmission. I know it is not me, but am starting to think I may have to live with it.
So, other than the gas pedal, what else can cause the throttle to readjust? Does it get inputs from anything else? Do you think it may be the throttle body itself? I am perplexed.

The transmission is working well. And it is not like it slips. It still feels like you are pedaling the throttle.

I agree, think I will take it to a good diagnostic shop. The transmission was rebuilt long after the issue with no change. The clutches were in need, but I am not sure that the torque converter isn't the issue. But I need to have another party say it is not the engine.
    Thanks though.

I know this is a Tundra forum but I have a question about my 05 Tacoma if that is okay? 05 TRD Sport 4X4 83,000 miles that I bought new in 05. I have a rattle from my left front wheel when I hit small sharp bumps. Rattle is a metallic sound....kind of hard to explain. Almost sounds like something is loose. Drives and steers fine. Never been submerged, airborn or even off road for that matter lol.

Aftermarket brake pads? Those have rattled before... also skid plate.... i would just check for obvious things loose on that side suspension area. Not many miles so kinda early for alot of things

I'm dfoxtrot and I have a 2006 4-door SR% with 87,000 miles on it. My TPMS light has been flashing for about a year now and I knew I had at least 2 sensors out. I have never relied on the TPMS system (I check my tires at least monthly) so I decided I simply didn't want to spend the money to replace them. A friend referred me to a site that showed how you could go in and cut a wire on the ECM, ground it and the light would go out. Well, I did that today and the light went out. HOWEVER, now the airbag light comes on and stays on. I went back, reattached the wires I cut and reconnected everything like it was but the airbag light still stays on. I am thinking I bumped something in reaching in such a tight space but for the life of me cannot find anything loose. Does anyone have any idea as to what I may have done?

I also tried disconnecting the battery for 20 minutes. Didn't work. Any help would be appreciated.

Might be coincidence. Maybe you have an actual airbag problem. But u need to pull the code for the airbag system

That sounds like the light in the dash that tells the passenger if the airbag has been turned on or not.

I figured it out and boy do I feel like a dummy.

I had not yet reinstalled the A/C control bezel so none of that wiring harness had been reconnected. In pouring over stuff on the interenet, it dawned on me that there was an indicator light on that control bezel. I reconnected that bezel and voila, the TPMS light no longer flashes and the airbag light has gone off. Thanks for all that tried to help me. I have a feeling I'll be hanging around here, seems like some good folks here.

I put about 6-8k a year on my vehicle (I drive a company vehicle M-F). Dealer suggest service every 6 months regardless of miles. Sound advice or are they just trying to take my money? Truck is new.

Have you ever encountered/dealt with the 1st gen TRD big brake kit? Any idea what size wheel is needed to clear the calipers? I've searched, but can't find much info on them.

Our 2015 Tundra started vibrating yesterday while coming down a mountain. We are on vacation in Oregon on the coast so there are no toyota dealers close by. It doesn't always vibrate when we brake at normal braking only when going a good speed and coming downhill. We will be traveling home next week and it is down the 101 so lots of mountains to come down.

Your front rotors are probably warped. You need to not ride your brakes down the mtn roads.... when u make it home, they will probably resurface the rotors under warranty.

Question...recently my truck has been making a squeaking type noise in reverse. Not sure what it is. I know I'm about due for brakes, but I've never heard this sounds prior to any other brake changes. Any clues? She is 2011 5.7 4x4

Ok, I will. I'm hoping that's the easy fix.
