This is true, the trade off here is that it could make the brakes more difficult to modulate. The reduced pedal effort can make it more difficult to apply the correct amount of braking at any given time. This is assuming you only increase the rotor diameter and change nothing else. Similar results could be achieved by changing to a high friction pad, which is what many people do.

If you increase rotor diameter and reduce total piston area, you could improve pedal feel while still reaping the benefits of a BBK. This is why brake upgrades can get tricky, there are a lot of quantitative and qualitative factors at play and they all affect each other.

I would love to upgrade to something that doesn't shudder so bad when braking on descents when towing. It's surprisingly bad.

What are they proposing? are they talking about the 8 pistons set up I've seen on other 1/2 tons?
    - What size of pads? what shape? what compound?
    - Will this be for stock rotors? or are they going to widen it like Alcon does with their bulletproof kits?
    - Are they going to use alloy pistons or stainless steel?
    - Will these be radial mounted?

I have the ST60 kit on my truck, and it's a good improvement, but I'll tell you what really needs to be done:
    - Up the rotors to 360mm or 370mm so it can still fit behind 18"s 370mm should fit with spacers on stock wheels, so this way they can use slightly deeper pads, and please stick with standard FMSI shapes, so we can find replacements.
    - Widen the rotors to 36mm, or 38mm, we need more mass to absorb the heat.
    - Please update those calipers so we can remove pads without removing the calipers, I've had worked on SSBC's kit, and its very annoying and irritating to remove the whole calipers to change the pads.

2200 miles in on my tundra Pro I think the brakes are fine. Coming from 2 4runner Pros. I like how the brakes work so far on my tundra.
